Hard rock super group Hail The Horns will release its self-titled debut album next month, and in anticipation unveiled the lyric video for the album’s title track this month.
The band debuted the lyric video for the song May 4. The song is featured in the band’s album, which is scheduled for release June 3 through Mindsnap Music.
The band’s new video presents the song’s lyrics next to the image of the album’s cover art as the song plays over.
The musical arrangement featured in ‘Hail The Horns’ (also known as H.T.H.) is a heavy, composition whose instrumentation and vocals are expertly balanced throughout the song. At points, the whole lends itself to comparison to works from Pantera, while at others it conjures thoughts of works from Crowbar.
Tony Camps (Static-X, Fear Factory) handles vocal duties in this song. The sound and style of his vocal delivery is immediately comparable to that of Crowbar front man Kirk Windstein.
Drummer Christian F. “Opus” Lawrence (Dead By Wednesday) talked about the song’s musical and lyrical content in a prepared statement.
“’H.T.H.’, which are simply abbreviations for our self-titled track, is a nod and an “ode to” some of the classic heavy metal songs and bands that we grew up on that influenced us all,
” said Lawrence. “Tony who is singing leads on this track, took some song titles, words and lines from obvious metal songs and made them work writing them into song complete lyrics. Our idea was to have that same “metal militia” type vibe. I believe we accomplished that.”
‘Hail The Horns’ was produced, mixed and mastered by Nicky Bellmore (Dee Snider, Jasta/Hatebreed, Dead By Wednesday).
Rounding out Hail The Horns is Marc Rizzo (Ill Nino, ex-Soulfly), who formed the band.
