Turner Sports Announces NBA Pre-season, Regular Season Opener Schedules

TNT will launch its NBA preseason coverage next week.

The network made the announcement through a press release distributed Tuesday. The document states the networks’ preseason coverage is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. Oct. 5 with a showdown between the 2020-21 NBA Champion Milwaukee Bucks on the road against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Kevin Harlan will have the call for the game. Stan Van Gundy will provide additional commentary along with fellow analyst and NBA legend Reggie Miller. Reporters Allie LaForce and Stephanie Ready will have all of the game’s latest headlines and interviews.

Matt Winer, Isiah Thomas, and Channing Frye will be live in studio at half-time with all of the game’s first half highlights and headlines from around the league.

In other news, TNT will open its coverage of the NBA’s regular season Oct. 19 with not one but two double headers. The first double header will go down as follows: The first game will see the Bucks take the court against the Nets. The Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers will tip off in the evening’s second game.

The second season-opening double header from TNT will air Oct. 21 with the Mavericks and Hawks opening the night. The Warriors and Clippers will round out the night’s coverage.

The Emmy Award-winning studio team of Ernie Johnson, Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kenny Smith will provide pre-game coverage ahead of each evening’s schedule on Inside The NBA.

All games broadcast through TNT will also simulcast online the through the Watch TNT app and at http://www.tntdrama.com/watchtnt.

NBA TV To Carry Exclusive Coverage Of The 2016 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony

Next Friday the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame will holds its annual enshrinement ceremony and NBA TV will have exclusive coverage of the ceremony.

Broadcast of the event begins Sept. 9 at 7:30pm ET live from the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, MA.  The 2016 class of inductees includes: four-time NBA Champion and current TNT NBA analyst Shaquille O’Neal, 1997 NBA Rookie of the year and 2001 NBA MVP Allen Iverson, and eight-time NBA All-Star Yao Ming.

Broadcast of the event will be preceded by the 2016 Hall of Fame Red Carpet Show at 6:30pm ET.  Matt Winer will host the program.  He will be joined by Steve Smith and Rick Kamla.

The full 2016 list of players to be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame is noted below.

  • Sheryl Swoopes: WNBA’s first-ever signed player and three-time WNBA MVP

  • Darrel Garretson (posthumous): 27-year NBA official, organizer and leader of the National Association of Basketball Referees

NBA TV To Air Nine Men’s And Women’s USA Basketball Exhibition Games

There is some more good news for basketball fans who want to catch their favorite stars this summer ahead of the 2016 Olympics.  That is thanks to NBA TV.

Officials with NBA TV announced Tuesday that the network will carry coverage of nine Men’s and Women’s USA Basketball Exhibition Games in the days leading up to the 2016 Summer Olympics.  Broadcast of the games, presented by Nike, begins Friday, July 22nd at 9pm ET when the USA Men’s National Team takes on Argentina.  In total NBA TV’s USA Basketball exhibition schedule includes five USA Men’s National Team games and four USA Women’s National Team games.  Legendary NBA broadcaster Marv Albert will team with Matt Winer for play-by-play action in the USA Men’ National Team games.  They will be joined by Gold medalists Grant Hill, Reggie Miller, and Steve Smith for analysis.  Reporter Jared Greenberg will also be on hand for additional news and interviews during each game.

Vince Cellini will have the call for the USA Women’s National Team games.  He will be joined by Gold Medalist Lisa Leslie for analysis and additional commentary.  Reporter Kristen Ledlow will also be on hand for all of the latest in-game news and interviews.

As an additional bonus for basketball fans, NBA TV will air the NBA special NBA Real Training Camp: USA Basketball Presented by Jeep on Tuesday, July 19th at 3pm ET.  The two-and-a-half-hour program will air live from Las Vegas.  It takes viewers behind the scenes at one of the USA Basketball Men’s National Team practices in preparation for its exhibition games.  It will be hosted by Matt Winer.  He will be joined by analysts Grant Hill and Steve Smith for additional commentary.  Reporter Jared Greenberg will also be on hand for additional insight an interviews with the likes of USA National Team Managing Director Jerry Colangelo and USA head coach Mike Krzyzewski.  The Men’s USA National Team includes a number of today’s biggest NBA stars including but not limited to: Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony, Kyrie Irving, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, DeMarcus Cousins, Paul George, Harrison Barnes, Jimmy Butler, DeMar DeRozan, DeAndre Jordan and Kyle Lowry.
