Fore Debuts Satirical Cover Of Alice In Chains’ ‘Man In The Box,’ Companion Video

Independent punk rock band Fore is taking on a grunge classic for its latest single.

The band premiered its take on Alice in Chains’ ‘Man in the Box’ Tuesday through Metal Injection. The amped up take on the song was accompanied by a music video that takes the band’s satirical take on the song another step up from the original and gives it a whole new identity.

The song’s arrangement is a full-on, three-minute punk take on the grunge classic. The original song’s sound is there, but the stylistic take is completely different. The video features a man who is literally in a bunch of boxes. It also features a nonstop series of images, such as various bodies of water, a woman laying on a floor, looking upset over something, and one of the band members grilling out.

The video and cover is clearly meant to be taken with tongue planted firmly in cheek. It is not meant to be taken seriously, unlike the far moodier original song.

Fore’s premiere of its cover of ‘Man in the Box’ comes approximately two months after the band premiered its then latest single, ‘Repeated Subtraction’ and its companion video. The song was the band’s first new music since the release of its single, ‘Today We Rise (No Tomorrow)’ in 2020. That song was featured in the band’s debut 2020 album, Hombres.

Lutharo Debuts ‘Blood Lightning’ Video

Courtesy: Asher Media Relations

Independent hard rock band Lutharo debuted the video for its latest single this week.

The band debuted the video for its new single ‘Blood Lightning’ Thursday through Metal Injection.  The song is the second single from the band’s new EP Wings of Agony, which was released March 27.  The band debuted the video for the EP’s lead single/title track on Feb. 26.

The musical arrangement at the center of Lutharo’s new single presents a powerful death metal style approach through its guitar and drums.  Front woman Krista Shipperbottom’s vocal delivery style, which shows her ability to handle clean vocals and screams, adds to the song’s punch, as does the steady bass line of Chris Pacey.  The arrangement in whole will appeal to fans of bands, such as Arch Enemy, Unleash The Archers, and Amon Amarth.

The song’s lyrical theme matches the energy in its musical arrangement, as the band explained in a prepared statement.

“The song ‘Blood Lightning’ is about having such an extreme passion for something so much so that it sets your soul on fire, for better or for worse,” the statement reads. “It is the endless struggle of putting your blood, sweat, and tears into something and receiving next to nothing in return. However, when you do catch a glimpse of your progress, it is enough to keep pushing forward even when you are constantly being beaten down and put to war. The music video for ‘Blood Lightning’ showcases all of the physical, emotional, financial, etc. Hard work that is put into pursuing your dreams in music.”

“The shots taken to look like the set of a video shoot are meant to resemble the business aspect/behind the scenes work of being a musician, but also the high of performing live and seeing your visions come to life, while the single shots of each member in the middle of a storm are meant to display the emotional sacrifices and hardships that each individual goes through,” the statement further reads.

Wings of Agony‘s track listing is noted below.

Track Listing:
1. Barren (5:21)
2. Diamond Back (4:31)
3. Blood Lightning (4:41)
4. Will to Survive (5:09)
5. Wings of Agony (6:02)
EP Length: 25:45

Beyond The Horror Debuts Debut LP’s Lead Single, ‘Storm Rage’

Courtesy: Infecting Cells PR

Independent hard rock band Behind The Horror debuted the lead single from its forthcoming album Burn Up This Truth this week.

The band debuted its single ‘Storm Rage’ Thursday through Metal Injection.  The musical arrangement at the center of ‘Storm Rage’ exhibits a distinct prog-metal approach through its heavy yet specifically-time guitar riffs and equally precise time keeping.  The song’s lyrical theme meanwhile comes across as a story of a personal story that ultimately ends with hope.

Burn Up This Truth is scheduled for release Aug. 10 and  will come on the heels of the release of its debut EP …And The Horror Begins, which was released last year.

The band — composed of brothers Gabriel and Lucas Alves — issued a statement about the album in an open letter to its fans.  The letter is available to read below.

A letter for the fans:
”For all those who share that same feeling of love and passion for a dream, for all those who still believe that there is hope and who know that every day is a day of battle and that the enemy never sleeps. For all those who even in the tornado of mishaps that is life hear a distant voice that screams for you not to give up and know that surrender will never be an option. For all those who look at the world and want to change it. Know that we are with you.

This album is the result of an effort of almost 10 years of dedication, blood, sweat and a lot of hard work. So many things happened in that period of years in our lives that in a short note it would be impossible to say everything, so many comings and goings, distances traveled, losses, new journeys, new lives, overcoming and all this was worth it because through the fights eh came the victories . It seems a cheesy and boring cliché, but after all these years and observing how the world is at this very moment the message that we would like to send to everyone who hears this album is, never give up!

And none of this was built by just one of us, we learned that both in battle and in glory, good or bad, life is only worthwhile when you have people by your side to share all these moments. We would like to thank everyone who was part of that dream with us, everyone who once saw our shows, everyone who liked and shared our posts, everyone who extended their hand when we needed, everyone who in any way supported us and was part of this, our thanks, and may the universe allow us to meet again on this road. So without further, Let’s Burn Up This Truth.”

Etherius Debuts ‘The Rivers Of Sand And Blood’ Video

Courtesy: Adrenaline PR

Metal outfit Etherius debuted the lead single from its new album this week.

The band debuted the video for the song ‘The Rivers of Sand And Blood’ Friday through Metal Injection.  The video places the band in a large junkyard as it performs its new instrumental track.  The song is taken from the band’s forthcoming album ChaosOrderRenewal, which is scheduled for release April 17.

Etherius guitarist Jay Tarantino talked about the video’s treatment in the interview with Metal Injection.

“The idea for ‘The Rivers of Sand and Blood’ video was to create a visual that was fast-paced and chaotic to match the intensity of the music,” he said.  “Tom Flynn, who has worked with Lamb of God, Ice-T and Buckcherry among others, shot and directed it.  He did an amazing job capturing the energy we were going for.  It was also a lot of fun to smash a bunch of equipment with a sledgehammmer.  The engines and heavy machinery featured in the shots really emphasize the industrial ambient sounds going on throughout the song.”

ChaosOrderRenewal. was co-produced by Tarantino, Etherius drummer Zaki Ali and guitar virtuoso Angel Vivaldi.  Chris Clancy (Mutiny Within) mixed and mastered the record.  Along with co-producing the album, Vivaldi also makes a guest appearance on the song ‘Unity in Darkness.’

The track listing for ChaosOrder. Renewal. is noted below.

Chaos. Order. Renewal. Track listing:
1. Rise of Sirius
2. The Rivers of Sand and Blood
3. The Omnipotent
4. Pyramid of Mirrors
5. Unity in Darkness (feat. Angel Vivaldi)
6. The Eye of Ra
7. Bringer of Light

Tarantino spoke highly of the album during his interview with Metal Injection.

ChaosOrder. Renewal. has something for everyone,” he said.  “Whether you like metal or not, or whether or not you are a musician, the music has elements that anyone can appreciate.  It’s more aggressive than our previous release, but there is still plenty of melody.  We cut out the filler and get right to the point on every song.  These songs were meant to be played live, which you can see and hear for yourself on our U.S. tour.”

Etherius is scheduled to launch a tour in support of its new LP March 15 in Amityville, NY at a benefit concert to raise funds for people battling cancer.  Following that performance, the band will take time off to rest and recharge before launching a full-on tour April 9 in Denver, CO.  The tour is scheduled to run through April 29 in Seattle, WA.  It features performances in cities, such as Asheville, NC; Lakewood, OH and Clifton, NJ.
