Fans of Slash ft. Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators will get new music from the group this fall.

The band announced Thursday that it is working on a new album.  The currently untitled third full-length studio recording is being produced by Michael Baskette (Alter Bridge, Iggy Pop, Incubus).  Brent Fitz, Todd Kerns and Frank Sidoris also returned on this record to handle drums, bass and guitar respectively.

Slash said in a recent interview that he had high expectations for the band’s next album.

“I’m excited about the new stuff we put together for this next record,” Slash said.  “It’s got some cool songs and it’s got a great live feel.  I’ve been working with Myles, Brent and Todd for about eight years now.  It’s been an amazing ride so far.  AS a band we continue to get better, which is great.  With the addition of Frank since the “World on Fire” tour, I feel we have hit a great, creative stride, which I think definitely shows on this next record.”

While fans wait for the new album from Slash ft. Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators, they will also get to see Slash on tour this summer with Guns N’ Roses at a handful of European festivals.  Slash discussed those scheduled performances, too, saying he was looking forward to them.

“Guns N’ Roses will be headlining European festivals this summer.  It’s going to be a 110 percent performance and a huge blast,” Slash said.  “I love doing European fests and this is the first time we’ve done any proper festivals over there on the “Not In This Lifetime” Tour.  It’s indescribable to explain these shows.  I’m looking over and seeing Axl, Duff and Dizzy, whom I’ve known forever, but it also feels like an entirely new experience with Richard, Frank and Melissa.  It’s like being in a new band, except there’s a chemistry that is established from days of old, so it’s a natural thing that’s always been there.”

Alter Bridge has a new album on the way this fall.

The Last Hero will be released Friday, October 7th in stores and online.  Pre-orders for the album are open now via iTunes, Amazon, and GooglePlay.  The album can be ordered in a number of bundle packages online via Alter Bridge’s online store.  Those that pre-order the album now will get the album’s lead single ‘Show Me A Leader’ instantly.  For everyone else, the band has debuted the song’s lyric video, which can be viewed online now here.  The song is also streaming online via Spotify.  The song originally premiered Tuesday on Sirius/XMs Octane.  Front man Myles Kennedy discussed the song in a recent interview noting its socially conscious message.  “Lyrically, it reflects the frustrations that a lot of people are feeling with the current state of the world,” he said.  “The world is looking for trustworthy effective leadership and not this undignified dog and pony show that’s really made a mockery of our system.”  Guitarist Mark Tremonti expanded on the song, noting in short its creation.  “It’s indicative of our process,” he said.  “Myles had this guitar intro that I loved, and I had the chorus. We put them together. The words call out for a proper leader.”

The Last Hero is the band’s fifth full-length studio recording.  It will be released via Caroline Records in the United States and Canada and via Napalm Records throughout the rest of the world.  It was produced by Michael “Elvis” Baskette (Slash, Tremonti, Trivium, etc.).  Its full track-listing is noted below.

The Amity Affliction announce title, release date for Roadrunner Records debut

NEW YORK, NY–Roadrunner Records’ newest band, The Amity Affliction, has announced the title and U.S. release date for its debut album on the label.  The band has announced that the title of the band’s Roadrunner debut will be “Chasing Ghosts.”  The album is expected to be released September 18th.  Producer Michael Baskette has been tapped to man the boards on this release, which is the followup to the band’s previous full length release, “Youngbloods.”

When asked about recording the album with Baskette, the band’s frontman Joel Birch commented saying, “Recording with Elvis has been the most amazing experience for Amity since we began making records eight years ago.  It’s incredible. We came into this record more prepared than we ever have before as well, so everything is coming together really, really well.”  Birch also noted that the recording process is going very well, and how happy he is with the new album.  He said, “We’re all loving the new songs. It feels like there is an entire album of awesome songs that we love which hasn’t happened prior to this; we’ve finally written an album we are proud of from start to finish, no filler whatsoever.”

The Australian based band has earned high marks from the music journalism community.  Alternative Press magazine has calle The Amity Affliction one of the “Top 100 Bands You Should Know About in 2012.”  ARTISTdirect said of the Aussie rock band, it is “Modern heavy metal at its finest…Amity Affliction are the most exciting band of 2012. Combining gnashing riffs a la Killswitch Engage and hooks that rival Deftones, Amity Affliction are primed to take over.”
