Dead By Wednesday is back in the headlines again with a new record deal and album on the way.

The band announced Monday, it has signed a new record deal with Salt of the Earth Records. The deal also includes a partnership with independent record label Mindsnap Music.

The deal will see Dead By Wednesday release its next album, Capital Conspiracy, through the label July 24 domestically and on Aug. 26 in Europe. A teaser trailer for the new album is streaming here. It will release on vinyl, CD, and through all digital platforms.

Salt of the Earth Records CFO Scott Harrington said he was happy about adding Dead By Wednesday to the label’s roster.

“Our plan from day one has been to work with a broad spectrum of artists,” Harrington said. “Many different shades of heavy. So your gonna see our roster grow to reflect that. The time is right. Signing DEAD BY WEDNESDAY and working together with Mindsnap Music is a great step forward. DEAD BY WEDNESDAY have a work ethic, second to none. And this album is blistering. It’s loud. It’s aggressive, and I fucking love it!”

Dead By Wednesday drummer Opus (a.k.a. Christian F. Lawrence) said he was just as happy about the new partnership.

“I’m super excited to be working with one of my longtime friends in the business Scott Harrington,” Lawrence said. “If anyone knows how to make stuff happen, it’s this guy! So with our crazy work ethic and his drive with his label, Salt Of The  Earth Records, our union will be nothing short of epic! Merging Mindsnap Music with Salt Of The  Earth Records and coming together for the release of our new Dead By Wednesday album “Capital Conspiracy” will be a complete powerhouse!”

Dead By Wednesday released its latest singles, ‘Mars in Exile‘ and ‘S.O.S.‘ last year.

Dee Snider Band Members Form New Band; Premiere New Single, Video

Independent rock band Bomber Alley premiered its debut single and video last month.

The band, which was formed by drummer Talon Blaque, premiered its debut single, ‘We Get By‘ and its companion lyric video Aug. 21. The single released through Mindsnap Music (on behalf of Von Artists, LTD.).

The musical arrangement featured in in ‘We Get By’ is a pure, guitar-driven work that throws back to the sounds made so famous by the likes of Guns ‘N Roses, Motley Crue, and Dee Snider.

The press release announcing the premiere of Bomber Alley’s new single and lyric video provided no information about the song’s lyrical theme. However the lyrics presented in the lyric video point toward a theme of determination and getting past the things that we use to hold ourselves back. That is just this critic’s own interpretation and should not be taken as the only interpretation.

Speaking of the song’s lyric video, the video features the song’s lyrics over a variety of images, such as a guitar, a skull with a bullet in its mouth (taking the phrase “bite the bullet” literally) and other imagery.

In other news, the noted press release announced Bomber Alley is planning the release of its debut EP in 2022 through Mindsnap Music via Von Artist/The Orchard/Sony.. Its track listing and exact release date are under consideration.

Puya Returns With New Single, ‘Potencial,’ Companion Video; Announces Live Dates With Dead By Wednesday

Veteran rock band Puya is back in the news.

The band unveiled its latest single, ‘Potencial‘ Thursday along with its companion video. The song features the band’s entire original lineup along with percussionist Oscar Santiago (ex-Ill Nino).

The band’s familiar Afro-Latin-tinged sound is just as evident as ever here. It is accompanied by an interesting blend of thrash and guitar rock influence. No information was provided about the lyrical theme featured in the new song, though the song’s video might shed some hint at the song’s theme.

The song’s video features a young man dreaming of becoming a rock star. He is sitting in his room watching Puya on his TV while what are assumed to be his parents argue right outside his room on their home’s balcony. As they fight, the young man makes his way up a mountain to its top. He ends up “performing with” the band, when his parents see him on the same TV. Their differences are soon forgotten. This all hints at a message of working to achieve one’s own potential no matter what.

Dead By Wednesday drummer drummer Christian F. Lawrence (a.k.a. Opus) spoke highly of Puya as he talked about the bands sharing the stage this summer.

“I grew up listening to these guys since they were on Atlantic Records and playing Ozzfest so not only is it an honor to be opening up for them on their debut return in the states with my band DBW, but I’m happy to also say that I’ll be working with them on many different levels as well in the future,” he said. “Great bunch of guys and a very talented band!!!!!!!!
