Veteran Actor McDowell To Receive Award At Upcoming Event

Veteran actor Malcolm McDowell will receive a very special honor next week.  McDowell, who is known for his roles in the likes of, A Clockwork Orange, Star Trek Generations, The Artist, etc., will receive the 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award from the sCare Foundation.  The sCare Foundation (Suspense Community Allocating Relief and Empowerment) was founded by Malek Akkad.  Akkad is the producer of the highly successful Halloween movie franchise.  The foundation focuses on issues affecting today’s youth.  Among the most pressing of those issues are homelessness and poverty.

In noting the reasons for offering the award to him, Akkad said of McDowell, “Malcolm is an amazing actor and true professional.”  He added, “He’s always been an ardent supporter and we’re excited to be able to honor him in this way.  Besides being one of our greatest actors, he has always shown unwavering support to our cause, and his generosity and compassion truly appreciated.”

Tickets to the upcoming event are available now.  They can be purchased online at or at Dark Delicacies ( in Burbank.  The event is being sponsored by Anchor Bay Entertainment, Trancas Films, Compass International Pictures, Weintraub/Tobin, Rubie’s Costumes, Monster Energy Drink, and IRA Capital.  It will be held at the Conga Room at L.A. Carnival of Madness announces addition to tour lineup

The Carnival of Madness Tour has announced a new addition to the lineup for this year’s festival.  Tour organizers have announced the addition of Cavo to this year’s tour.  The band will join Evanesence, Halestorm, Chevelle and New Medicine this time out.  Cavo’s stint on the annual Summer tour is part of its tour to support its recently released new album, “Thick as Thieves”, which was released this past April.  ‘Circles’, the second single off of “Thick as Thieves”, is expected to start running on radio stations nation wide this Summer, just in time for the tour.

The tour kicks off July 31st in Springfield, Il.  It will make stops in Boston, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Detroit, Milwaukee, and Chicago along the way.  It will also make a stop in Charlotte, North Carolina on Wednesday, August 8th at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre.
