Fox Sports has come under great scrutiny ever since the company replaced Speed Channel and Fusion with Fox Sports 1 and Fox Sports 2 this Summer. Even after Fox Sports 1 maintained its NASCAR coverage, fans of Speed Channel have continued to voice their discontent over the networks’ switchover. The heads at Fox Sports have obviously listened to the fans and critics. That’s because it was announced today that Fox Sports and Feld Motorsports have inked a new five-year deal that will see both Fox Sports 1 and Fox Sports 2 broadcasting much of the programming that had previously run on Speed Channel and Fusion.
The new deal between Fox Sports and Feld Motorsports includes broadcast rights for Monster Jam, Monster Energy Supercross, AMSOIL Arenacross, and the Monster Energy Cup. Broadcast of these series will begin in January 2014. When broadcasts of Monster Jam begin in January, fans will see a new truck and a new face in the ranks. Tom Meents’ Max-D team has introduced Morgan Kane as the newest driver for the team. He will pilot one of the Max-D trucks beginning with the 2014 season. And the futuristic New Earth Authority truck will debut in the 2014 season. It will make its debut at the Tacoma Dome at the season opener in Tacoma Washington on January 3rd and 4th. It will be piloted by Norm Miller, who himself is a police officer by day. Fans can get a look at the truck right now online at http://www.monsterjam.com/News/2013/11/12/3/.
