Ventruss Releases Its New EP, ‘Serpent’; Debuts EP’s Latest Single

Never say never. That should be Ventruss’ motto.

That is because more than five months after debuting what its members said at the time was the last single from its new EP, Serpent, Ventruss has debuted another single from the 2021 release. The band premiered its new single, ‘Spirit of The Chosen‘ and its video Friday. The song is the fourth single from the six-song record.

The band premiered the EP’s title track and its companion video Oct. 29. The EP has also produced the singles, ‘Sentiment,‘ ‘Talladega.

The musical arrangement featured in ‘Spirit of the Chosen’ is a driving, upbeat composition that is grounded in its solid time keeping and its equally cutting guitar riffs and enveloping vocals. The low end from the bass rounds out the composition with its own touch, too. The whole immediately lends the work to those of bands, such as Killswitch Engage, All That Remains, and others of that ilk.

No information was provided about the song’s lyrical theme in the press release announce the song’s premiere. The lyrics provided with the song’s video makes relatively clear that the song deals with someone coping with the loss of a loved one. This is inferred directly through the lines, “Sent to the sky/Seen through your eyes/With the wings you’re given to fly/And soar through the sky/Why did you die?”

Serpent was released Friday through MVK Music Group.

Post Profit Debuts New Album’s Latest single, Video; Announces New Live Dates

Independent rock band Post Profit is scheduled to release its new album next month.

The band is scheduled to release its new album, When You Think It’s Right It’s Always Wrong Feb. 25 through Tulip Lane Records and MVK Music Group. In anticipation of the album’s release, the band debuted its latest single this week along with the song’s companion video.

Post Profit debuted its new single, ‘We’re All Monsters‘ and its video Wednesday. The song is the fifth single from the album behind ‘Haunt Me,’ ‘When You Think It’s Right,’ ‘Better Off‘ and ‘Same Sad Song.’

The musical arrangement featured in ‘We’re All Monsters’ is a clear contrast to the album’s other singles. Where the other singles are dark, brooding compositions, this song is a more upbeat work. It presents a familiar garage/stoner style approach and sound that is easily comparable to works from the likes of Queens of the Stone Age.

The song’s lyrical theme is just as accessible as its musical arrangement. The band talked about that theme in a prepared statement.

This song was written about a universal concept: that we as humans are not perfect,” the statement reads. “We make mistakes, and we hurt each other. Most of us have a closet full of skeletons, so to speak. When something bad happens to us, we often look for somewhere to place the blame. For most of us, that’s much easier than accepting our faults.”

“This song begs one question of humanity – how can we be better people?,” the statement continues. “In a world where it seems everyone is only out for themselves, sometimes it’s difficult to see where humility and civility should fit in. We want people to understand that it’s okay to accept your faults, make changes, and not let your faults define you.”

The video for ‘We’re All Monsters’ is an artistic presentation. It features the band performing in a studio setting. Special video effects are used to give the video a unique touch to heighten the viewing experience.

SoulSwitch Debuts New Single, ‘Until The End,’ Companion Video

Independent hard rock band SoulSwitch debuted the video for its latest single last week.

The band debuted the video for its new single ‘Until The End‘ Jan. 21. The video merges footage of the band performing its new single in what is meant to reflect a live setting with video of two separate figures — a man and woman — sitting alone going through what is clearly some emotional turmoil as the song plays over the whole.

The band explained the imagery in a statement as it pertained to its connection to the song’s lyrical theme in a prepared statement.

“While sounding like your typical breakup song, there is more under the surface with ‘Until The End,’ the statement reads. “When you first listen to ‘Until The End’, you may walk away thinking that you have just listened to another song about two people in a broken relationship.  Though it is about a relationship, it is not about one you might think of first. ‘Until The End’ is about the relationship between the subconscious and the conscious. The song is about how the subconscious is trying to change the choices of the conscious, but is getting muted in the process.”

The musical arrangement that accompanies the song’s lyrical theme is a heavy, melodic rock composition. It will appeal to fans of bands, such as Sevendust, The Veer Union, and Breaking Benjamin with its heaviness and harmonies.

‘Until The End’ is available to download here. It is the third in a series of four new songs from SoulSwitch. Its premiere and that of its companion video follows that of its predecessors, ‘Take Me Under‘ and ‘Everything I Am.’

Seasons Debuts New Single, ‘Killing Season,’ Companion Video

Courtesy: MVK Music Group

Metalcore outfit Seasons debuted its latest single and video this month.

The band debuted its new single ‘Killing Season‘ and its video Jan. 6. Following in the tracks of Ice Nine Kills, Seasons’ new single and video focus on the infamous cinema murderer Jason from New Line Cinema/Paramount Pictures’ Friday the 13th franchise.

The release of the band’s new single and video comes ahead of the pending release of the second independent sequel to the franchise, Friday The 13th: Vengeance 2. The movie is expected for release this fall.

The band discussed its new single and video in a prepared statement.

“This song was written from the perspective of the fictional masked murderer Jason Voorhees from the Friday the 13th franchise,” the statement reads. “The song is loaded with references to different aspects of Jason and events that happen to the character throughout the movie franchise. We are very excited and proud to say that the song will be featured on the soundtrack for the movie Friday the 13th: Vengeance 2. This movie is expected to be released in the fall of 2021.”

The musical arrangement that accompanies Seasons’ new single is stylistically speaking, very much in the same vein as the arrangement at the center of Ice Nine Kills’ own Friday the 13th story, ‘Thank God It’s Friday. While the two songs are their own works, the stylistic approach and sound in Seasons’ work is still very similar to Ice Nine Kills’ song.
