Punk rock band Urethane premiered its latest single and video this month.

The band premiered its new single, ‘Inheritance’ and its companion video Jan. 6 through Alternative Press magazine. The song features a guest appearance by Pennywise front man Jim Lindberg.

‘Inheritance’ is featured in Urethane’s debut album, Chasing Horizons, which is available now. A limited number of vinyl copies of Chasing Horizons is available here.

The musical arrangement featured in ‘Inheritance’ is a rich composition. Lindberg’s familiar vocal style pairs with the surf/skate punk style and sound (much in the vein of Chaser) to give the song in whole a unique identity. That blend of leanings gives the arrangement in general a sound and style that is sure to engage and entertain audiences.

According to information provided about the song’s lyrical theme, it focuses on the sociological matter of whether nature or nurture causes our behaviors, which was addressed by guitarist Steve Caballero.

“The premise of ‘Inheritance’ is rooted in the idea that all of our flaws, negative character traits, addictions, unhealthy behaviors, bad ethics/morals are passed down to us either genetically or through learned behavior from our parents,” he said.

The video for ‘Inheritance’ is its own familiar style presentation. It features the band live onstage as the song plays over the visualization.

Ska-punk band The Inevitables debuted its latest single this week.

The band premiered its new single, ‘Over And Out’ Thursday. The song is available now to stream and download through Spotify and Apple Music.

The musical arrangement featured in ‘Over And Out’ is a light, bouncy composition. It stands out in that while the band is knowns as a ska outfit, it limits its ska leanings more in favor of a pop punk type sound and approach here.

Drummer and songwriter Vinnie Fiorello talked about that approach to the song in a prepared statement.

“It’s high energy ska with intricate parts that take you way off the oath of the usual formula of the genre,” he said.

As to the song’s lyrical theme, Fiorello said it is meant to deliver a positive message to listeners, stating, “Lyrically, it’s a reminder to everyone that sometimes the ending of things can be the most positive of the journey.”

The positive message in that theme pairs with the song’s upbeat arrangement and its positive vibes to make the song in whole a work that will connect with any listener.

In other news, The Inevitables has announced a new pressing of its 2020 debut self-titled album. The new release is a third pressing of the record. It is available here on separate brown, blue, and gold pressings. Each pressing is in limited quantities.
