Royals Offers Hope For The World’s Future In New Single, Video

Independent pop punk band Royals premiered its latest single this week along with its companion video.

The band premiered its new single ‘Worldwide Catastrophe‘ Friday, along with its companion video. The video premiered through Substream magazine. The band’s new single features a musical arrangement that will appeal to bands, such as Fall Out Boy, Panic! at the Disco, and My Chemical Romance. That is evidenced through the poppy vocal harmonies and the melodies presented in the guitar line.

The song’s lyrical theme presents a message of hope in relation to the world’s future, according to front man Luke Smithson.

“‘Worldwide Catastrophe’ is intended to put across a message about how we live in a world full of selfishness, greed & hate amongst other awful things,” he said. I believe our generation can be the voice to make changes to these things and help make the world a better place. This is the message I wanted to get across lyrically when writing this song. Since our last release we have developed as a band on so many levels and this song is a prime example of what you can expect from Royals in the near future.”

The video for ‘Worldwide Catastrophe’ features the band in a darkened soundstage, illuminated from behind by a series of lights. The contrast in the light and dark, together with the general cinematography, is meant to help illustrate that message of the light in so much darkness. The energy in the camera movements and editing is used to help illustrate the emotional mood of the song.

‘Worldwide Catastrophe’ is just the latest single from Royals. The band released its single ‘Out of Reach‘ in April 2020. ‘Fair-Weather Friend‘ followed in June 2020.

Afraid of Ghosts debuted the video for its latest single this week.

The independent electro-pop outfit debuted the lyric video for its song ‘No Hero‘ Thursday.  The video’s debut comes roughly three weeks after the band debuted the single. According to information presented in a news release distributed about the song, “Everyone has ghosts they run from, and internal struggles that haunt them, and pop newcomers Afraid of Ghosts tell their own story about wrestling with demons.  With a fresh take on electro-pop, the mysterious super group take on love, loss and the darker aspects of the human experience.  The lyrics are heartfelt and raw against an undeniably catchy musical backdrop, but it’s not all gloom and doom; within their story lies a glimmer of hope.”
