ESPN3 To Broadcast 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup Draw

The Super Bowl is over.  The confetti has dropped.  The pizza and beer are gone.  So what’s a person to do now?  Simple.  Check out ESPN3 Monday, February 3rd for the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup Draw.

ESPN3 will carry live coverage of the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup Draw Monday, February 3rd.  Coverage begins at 1pm ET.  The draw sets up the picture for this year’s FIBA Basketball World Cup.  The annual draw is set up with twenty-four teams being split into four groups of six teams each.  Among the teams involved in this year’s tournament are the defending world champion United States, Angola, Argentina, Australia, Croatia, Dominican Republic, Egypt, France, Iran, Lithuania, Mexico, New Zealand, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Senegal, Serbia, Slovenia, South Korea and Ukraine.  Four wild card teams have already been announced for the tour.  Those teams are: Finland, Brazil, Greece, and Turkey.

The2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup tournament begins Saturday, August 30th.  It runs through Sunday, September 14th and will be held in Spain this year.  Audiences will be able to catch every game of this year’s tournament across the ESPN family of networks.  ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3, and ESPN Deportes will combine to carry full coverage of this year’s tournament.  The preliminary rounds of this year’s tournament will be played in Bilbao, Granada, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and Seville.  The tournament’s final rounds will be held in Barcelona and Madrid.

ESPN Broadcasting Expanded Edition of Sunday NFL Countdown This Sunday

ESPN will broadcast a special edition of Sunday NFL Countdown this week.  This week’s edition of Sunday NFL Countdown come live from Herald Square in New York City.  The special extended four-hour broadcast will begin at 10am ET this Sunday, February 2nd.  Chris Berman will anchor the broadcast.  He will be joined by Suzy Kolber and Monday Night Countdown’s Trent Dilfer, Ray Lewis and Steve Young at MetLife Stadium.  Sal Paolantonio will have all the latest news from the Broncos while Ed Werder will have all of the latest updates from the Seahawks.

Analysts Cris Carter, Mike Ditka, Tom Jackson, and Keyshawn Jonhson will join host Chris Berman.  This year marks the thirty-second Super Bowl that Berman has covered.  ESPN will offer extensive coverage for football fans throughout its extended Sunday NFL Countdown broadcast including a 30 for 30 “mockumentary” courtesy of comedian Frank Caliendo focusing on Seahawks star Richard Sherman.  Stars of the upcoming NFL Draft-themed movie Draft Day, Kevin Costner, Jennifer Garner and Denis Leary, will also make an appearance.  If this isn’t enough, ESPN Senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen will sit down for a one-on-one interview with Broncos QB Peyton Manning.  The veteran quarterback will discuss his future in the league as well as how parenthood has affected him.

Seahawks QB Russell Wilson will sit down with Chris Berman at 11am ET to discuss his most memorable plays so far in his career.  Seahawks coach Pete Carroll will follow at 12:30pm ET.  He will share his friendship with one special fan and how it has grown over the years that the pair have known one another.
