Independent metalcore band Preacher kicked off the weekend by offering audiences a preview of its forthcoming EP.
The band premiered its new single, ‘Dystopia‘ Friday. The song is featured in the band’s forthcoming EP, Blur. The release date for the record — the band’s fourth EP — is under consideration.
The musical arrangement featured in ‘Dystopia’ is a high-energy composition. The intensity of the guitars and the screams pairs with the equal power of the drums and bass to make this song a powerful offering from the band that any metalcore fan will appreciate. The whole of the composition is easily comparable to works from the likes of Pierce The Veil, The Devil Wears Prada, and Beartooth.
No information was provided about the song’s lyrical theme in the news release announcing the premiere of the new single. In listening to the song as closely as possible, the song’s lyrical theme certainly comes across as being anything but upbeat. Rather, there is a lot of frustration and almost nihilism in the song’s lyrical content.
In other news, Preacher is scheduled to launch a new tour in support of its forthcoming EP Friday in Crockett, CA. The tour is scheduled to run through April 9 in its home town of Reno, NV. Performances in cities, such as Scottsdale, AZ; Corona, CA and Lodi, CA are also included in the tour schedule, which is noted below.
