Two of college football’s top teams face off this weekend under the lights when Michigan State plays host to Oregon. The matchup of the #5 Spartans and #7 Ducks is one of the most talked about matchups of the second week of the 2015 college football season. The game itself is just one reason that both teams fans will want to come out to support their team. Fans on both sides of the ball will want to come out to support their team because ESPN’s College GameDay Built by The Home Depot will broadcast live on site ahead of the game, which is the game of the week on ABC’s Saturday Night Football on ABC presented by Wells Fargo. Kickoff is set for 8pm ET.
ESPN’s College GameDay Built by The Home Depot will broadcast live from Munn Intramural Field on the campus of Michigan State from 9am ET – 11:30am ET on ESPN. Rece Davis will anchor Saturday’s broadcast. He will be joined at the desk by analysts Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, and David Pollack. Contributors Samantha Ponder, Tom Rinaldi, George Whitfield, and Gene Wojciechowski. Reporter Heather Cox will be on hand for more commentary, and Cait “Babi Mac” McMahan will handle all entertainment duties for her second consecutive season on the show. This weekend’s broadcast marks the fourth time in five years that ESPN’s College GameDay Built by The Home Depot will have been broadcast live from Michigan State and the eleventh time overall that it will have come live from the site of a Michigan State game. That is the most appearances in the Big Ten in that time. Ohio State comes in second at five. It is also the nineteenth time since 2009 that the show has come from the site of an Oregon game. That is bested only by Alabama with nineteen appearances. As added interest ESPN’s College GameDay Built by The Home Depot has aired live eighty-four times from college campuses for coverage of a Top Ten matchup. Last season, the home team won all five of the Top Ten matchups covered by ESPN’s College GameDay Built by The Home Depot.
Ahead of Saturday’s broadcasts, the College GameDay Built by The Home Depot set will be home to ESPN’s College Football Live Friday afternoon. Samantha Ponder, Desmond Howard, and David Pollack will be at the desk for the broadcast, which is scheduled to air live at 2pm ET on ESPN2.
Marty Smith will have live reports for both ESPN’s College GameDay Built by The Home Depot and ESPN’s SportsCenter throughout the weekend live from Ann Arbor, Michigan as former 49ers coach and now Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh makes his home debut with the Wolverines. The Wolverines will host the Oregon State Beavers live on ABC this Saturday. Coverage for that game is expected to begin at noon ET.
