The Brotherhood Debuts New Single, ‘Till The Wheels Fall Off,’ Companion Video

Country rock outfit The Brotherhood premiered its debut single and video to kick off the weekend.

The band, which include Saving Abel’s Scott Wilson on guitar, bass, and vocals, debuted its new single, ‘Till The Wheels Fall Off’ Friday, along with the song’s video. The country rock composition also features guest appearances from Neal Middleton (Royal Bliss), Marshal Dutton (Hinder), Brian Bonds (Florida Georgia Line), Kent Slucher (Luke Bryan) and Steve Hinson. Even with so many modern rock and country names taking part in the song, the overall arrangement throws back to the country rock songs that were so popular during the late 1980s and early-mid 90s.

The lyrical theme that accompanies the song’s musical arrangement is a straight forward presentation about life on the road. Even being such a familiar topic presented in a familiar fashion, it is still accessible, though that is largely due, again, to the song’s infectious musical arrangement.

The video for ‘Till The Wheels Fall Off’ is simple in its own presentation. It features the song’s lyrics over pictures of the band and its friends performing. The song’s arrangement plays over the visualization.

Cage9 Set To Enlighten Audiences With Its New Album, ‘Illuminator’

Cage9 has officially been released.

One of the latest additions to Dave Ellefson’s EMP Label Group, the band released its new album Illuminator this past Friday, June 3^rd. The album was released via eOne in the United States and Triple Vision Entertainment in Japan. It is schedule for release later this year in Europe via SPV. The band unveiled the video for the album’s lead single ‘Everything You Love Will Someday Die’ earlier this spring. The video is streaming online now via YouTube. It features footage of the band’s members and fans singing the song.

Front man Evan Rodaniche discussed the video in a recent interview. He noted the song’s family roots in the interview and the video’s recording process. “This song is dedicated to my father, who passed away about a month ago after a two year battle with cancer,” he said. “But even when I first wrote these lyrics at the onset of his terminal diagnosis as a sort of comforting mantra, in the back of my mind I believed my dad was indestructible. I never thought I’d be adding an “in loving memory” dedication at the end of this video. But then he was gone. And that’s what this is all about. We spend our modern lives wrapped up in our first world problems, completely disconnected with the natural cycles of the planet around us.”

In discussing the video’s production, Rodaniche noted the cameras that were used and the band’s general approach to making the clip. We shot the video DIY with a couple Canon DSLR cameras, a black sheet in our rehearsal room and about forty non-actor friends, fans, and family who showed up one sunny Los Angeles afternoon in 2015 to mouth the lyrics to a song they’d never heard. We aimed to bring home the message that no matter who you are we’re all in this together.” He went on to not the song’s roots and sound in his discussion, too noting, “As for the song itself, it’s a little bit of old school thrash mixed with something more melodic and a little piano and acoustic guitar wankery to push it over the 6 minute epic-metal-song mark. (Yes, there’s a radio edit.) He linked this in to a discussion on [Dave] Ellefson discovering Cage 9 through ‘Everything You Love Will Someday Die.’ I was the 14 year old kid running around with a worn out cassette of Peace Sells in his Walkman, he said. “So having the dude that brought us pretty much THE most recognizable bass riff of my (and half the planet over 30’s) youth dig our band is a huge honor.” He went on further noting, “Cage 9 originated in Panama where I grew up playing in a band yet having pretty much never experienced famous bands performing live to learn from, not to mention any of our idols like Megadeth or Metallica. This definitely makes this chance to work with Dave in a mentor/label situation that much more amazing. Very excited to be releasing our new album Illuminator with EMP this summer.”

Ellefson shared his thoughts on the band and its song in a discussion of his own even echoing the Megadeth/Metallica influence in the band’s new single noted by Rodaniche. “Cage9 is definitely the real deal,” he said. When I first heard ‘Everything You Love Will One Day Die,’ it instantly struck me as the closest I’ve heard to a song with a true Metallica/Megadeth core, with the radio accessibility to really connect with a modern rock audience. And with the band’s history, and everything they’ve accomplished, they were a perfect fit for what we were doing at EMP.”

Since moving to Los Angeles the band has released a total of six albums and more than one hundred songs. One of those albums was completely in Spanish. The band has sold 25,000 copies of its albums worldwide in that time and played over 50 dates across America just last year. It has also toured Japan and Central America as direct opener for Ozzy Osbourne, Bad Religion, Seether, and In This Moment. The band has also shared stage time with the likes of Sevendust, Hellyeah, Karnivool, and others. Even Rodaniche himself spent some time in the past as a member of Powerman 5000. He also helped to co-write, record, and mix some of PM5K’s most recent albums. That isn’t Rodaniche’s only production credit. He also worked on ex-Flyleaf singer Lacey Sturm’s new album and work from Boy Hits Car, and others. As if all of this isn’t enough credit to Cage9, the band has also received glowing reviews from its much more well-known counterparts including: Pop Evil, Korn, Saving Abel, Asking Alexandria, Devil You Know, and 9Electric just to name a handful of acts.

Another Lost Year Added To Shiprocked 2017 Lineup

Another Lost Year is getting Shiprocked!

The Charlotte, North Carolina-based band has been announced as the latest addition to the 2017 edition of the annual Shiprocked cruise. The cruise will feature a number of today’s top rock acts including but not limited to: Breaking Benjamin, Papa Roach, Alter Bridge, Sevendust, Pop Evil, and The Stowaways. The floating music festival will be held aboard the Carnival Victory. The liner will sail out of Miami Florida on January 16th, 2017, and make its way to Grand Turk in the Turks and Caicos before returning to port on January 20^th, 2017. Also featured in the 2017 Shiprocked cruise will be: Avatar, Crobot, 12 Stones, and many others. A very limited number of rooms is still available for the 2017 Shiprocked cruise. VIP packages are sold out. Pricing information for the available rooms is noted via the official Shiprocked website.

Before the band takes to the high seas it will also perform live at the 2016 Laconia Fest Motorcycle Music Festival. The Laconia Fest is part of what is billed as the “oldest motorcycle rally on the planet.” The nine-day festival takes place at Weirs Drive-In Theatre in Laconia, New Hampshire from Saturday, June 11^th to Sunday, June 19^th. The debut installment of the Laconia Fest will feature performances from some of the top acts from rock’s past, present, and future. They include but are not limited to: Steven Tyler, Lita Ford, Ted Nugent, Warrant, LA Guns, Dope, Everybody Panic!, Sevendust, Buckcherry, Fuel, Saving Abel, and many more. General Admission tickets and VIP passes are available for a number of the festival’s performances. General admission tickets include: Admission to the Festival village, the FMX Stunt Show, Main stage & EMP Group Label Group – Stage 2 Views, and more. VIP Pit passes include: Exclusive, best-position access to stage-front from the Pit viewing area, 2 complimentary tokens, and access to cash bar and other amenities. VIP Tower passes are also available. They include: Exclusive access to an elevated 15-foot platform with premium stage view, private bar with beer and other drinks, prepared box meal, luxury accommodations, and other optional extras. Those extras come at an added cost. Wheel chair access will also be available for the festival. The Raskins Could Be Another Of The Next Big Names In Mainstream Rock

The new self-titled album from rock duo The Raskins is a near perfect debut from brothers Logan and Roger Raskin. The sound delivered by the duo—and the studio musicians who were employed to help record the album—is a largely straight forward rock sound tinged lightly with a little punk at the same time. It hints at other bands the likes of The Exies and others of that ilk. The mix of Roger Raskin’s driving guitar riffs and his brother Logan’s equally thoughtful lyrics makes this record quite the interesting experience. That’s obvious right off the top with the album’s opener ‘We Had It All.’ The seemingly socially conscious ‘Need Another Hero’ is just as solid without being too preachy in its lyrical content. And the almost poppy, celebratory ‘On The Radio’ comes across as echoing the feeling that the brothers might have felt in first hearing themselves….well….on the radio. These songs are only a few examples of what makes The Raskins’ new self-titled album one that anyone looking for good pure rock and roll will appreciate.

Logan and Roger Raskin have crafted an impressive record in their new self-titled album. There are plenty of catchy hooks and choruses throughout the record and equally interesting lyrics from song to song. The combination of the album’s musical and lyrical together makes this a record that is just as enjoyable as any release from any major name rock band out there today. That is evident right off the top in the album’s opener ‘We Had It All.’ This song comes across as being thematically about determination and overcoming life’s difficult situations. This includes bad relationships. That interpretation comes as Logan Raskin sings, “We had it all/Struck me down/You crossed the line/Can’t wipe the tears I’ve cried/Same old song/For years I’ve tried/Don’t hold me back.” It becomes even clearer as he sings, “Chase down a dream/My hopes not ending/I’ve never seen that place before/This fairy tale has left me turning/Can’t crucify me/Wanting more.” That is Logan essentially saying, no matter what, he (or the subject of the song) will not give up. Said figure wants more out of life. It’s truly a positive message. Add in Roger Raskins’ forward driving guitar line and the song is made even more solid. Roger’s driving guitar line expertly matches that lyrical theme with a sound that is positive yet still slightly emotional. Listeners will hear that as his guitar line is more in a minor key. The up-tempo vibe of the song overall drives that interpretation home even more. Listeners will agree in listening to his song that Logan’s hopeful lyrics and Roger’s guitar work together make it especially clear why this song was chosen as the duo’s first impression for listeners. It was most definitely the right choice.

‘We Had It All’ was the correct choice to open The Raskins’ new self-titled record. And the dup doesn’t let up from there. The album’s second song is just as thought provoking. The song lyrically comes across as a somewhat socially conscious piece. Logan sings in this song, “The city streets not safe at night/Close the doors and lock them tight/Buried safe inside/Till help arrives.” He and his brother go on from here to sing in the song’s chorus, “We all need another hero/One who fights for right and wrong/Who can see the light of reason/And may own a crystal ball.” Roger yet again displays expert talent as his guitar line echoes the almost desperate commentary crafted by his brother. The urgency in his guitar line drives home Logan’s message as Logan sings, “Too scared to walk outside alone/How we cry for thee unknown/Who might save us all/With nowhere left to turn.” On the serious side of things, this seeming commentary on the current state of America does quite the job of sending out the SOS in question. On another level, with all the superhero movies and TV series out there, this would make a perfect theme song for any of them, including those that are still in production. This makes this song that much more valuable to The Raskins’ new album. That’s because it helps the album in whole that much more enjoyable.

Those that might still not be convinced by the pair of songs already noted here need look no further than the poppy and celebratory ‘On The Radio.’ It should come as no coincidence that this song comes at the halfway point in The Raskins’ new record. Looking at the song from a lyrical vantage point, Logan and Roger have crafted here a song that seems to echo the feeling that one feels (or that perhaps they felt) at hearing their music on the radio for the first time. Bands, artists, and groups are always asked in interviews how they reacted the first time that they heard themselves on the radio. The general response is one explaining a sense of excitement. But how often have any artists, bands, or groups actually crafted a song about that initial feeling? The Raskins seem to have done that here. Logan sings in this song, “Working long days/For a dream that you can’t see/So I keep it inside of me/Living so hard/I wanna leave those days behind/Playing downtown with my band/All that I face/Another raw deal/And another damn heartbreak/Feelin’ knocked out/I’m gonna lose my mind/They say I’m on the radio tonight.” As the song breaks into its chorus, the real sense of elation that musicians must feel is truly expressed as Logan and Roger sing together, “Wha Oh Wha Oh I’m on the radio/Screaming out loud with my head out the window/Wha Oh I’m on the radio tonight/I’m on the radio.” There is a sort of explosive, positive energy that explodes from both Logan and Roger. And it translates expertly even on record. It would be no surprise if this piece translates just as well in a live setting. Regardless of live or on record, listeners will all agree that this is one of the absolute highest of high points on this record. It isn’t the only of those highest of points, either. Every song on this record is worthy of its own praise. Whether it be one noted here or not, every song has its own positives. All together, the songs that comprise The Raskins’ self-titled record make the album one that anyone looking for good, pure rock and roll will appreciate.

The band will perform with Saving Abel on three dates beginning next Friday, June 27^th at the famed Machine Shop in Flint, Michigan. Beginning Wednesday, July 2^nd, The Raskins will hit the road with Motley Crue and Alice Cooper on Motley Crue’s farewell tour. That tour makes it way to the PNC Music Pavilion in Charlotte, North Carolina on Tuesday, August 19^th. Nonpoint Signs New Deal With Metal Blade Records

Officials with Metal Blade Records announced today the addition of Florida-based hard rock band Nonpoint to its artist roster. The deal between Nonpoint and Metal Blade will see Metal Blade release Nonpoint’s upcoming eighth full-length album internationally. Front man Elias Soriano spoke with reporters on the announcement, expressing his happiness over the new deal. “This is a dream situation for us,” he said. “We’ve always needed a team behind us outside of the U.S. It’s a great feeling knowing you now have the best team possible.”

Drummer Robb Rivera echoed Soriano’s sentiments in his comments. “We are excited to get not only THE worldwide label of labels to release our album outside of the US, but to be part of a family now that has pretty much set the bar for metal releases for 30 plus years,” he said. “Needless to say , extremely excited to be able to get our music to the fans outside of the US through the team that helped launch Metallica.”

Nonpoint’s next album is currently slated to drop this Fall. Metal Blade Records rep Brian Slagel hinted at what fans can expect from the new album, stating, “The bit of new material I heard sounds great!” He was just as pleased with the announcement of the new deal between Nonpoint and Metal Blade Records. He said of the announcement, “All of us at Metal Blade are happy to welcome Nonpoint to the Metal Blade family. We are excited to work with them.”

Nonpoint will perform live at the Central Florida Fairgrounds at the WJRR Earthday Birthday festival. Also slated for the festival are: Alter Bridge, Everclear, All That Remains, Cypress Hill, Alien Ant Farm, Pepper, Fuel, Filter, Saving Abel, Saigon Kick, Lacuna Coil, Tantric, and many other bands. Nonpoint is also scheduled to perform at Rock The Yard in Kernersville, North Carolina on June 22nd alongside Another Lost Year. Performance Times Released For Annual Festival

Organizers of the annual “Welcome To Rockville” Festival presented by Monster Energy have released more information on this year’s festival. 2013 is the festival’s third year being held. Performance times for bands on each stage have officially been released. The “Monster Energy Main Stage East” opens with a performance by Pop Evil at 12:40pm. Pop Evil will be followed by All That Remains, Halestorm, Papa Roach, Stone Sour, and headliners Alice in Chains. Alice in Chains takes the “Monster Energy Main Stage East” at 9:45pm. The “Monster Energy Main Stage West” is just one of the many stages from which audiences have to choose during the festival. A full listing of bands and performance times is available below.

The whole party will be preceded by the “Rockville Downtown Experience presented by Corona Light” pre-party on Friday, April 26^th. Two post-show parties will be held Saturday, April 27^th.
