Whitechapel Debuts ‘Anticure’ Video

Whitechapel debuted the video for its latest single this week.

The band premiered the video for its single, ‘Anticure’ Thursday. The song is the third single from the band’s latest album, Kin. The band premiered the album’s second single, ‘A Bloodsoaked Symphony‘ in September. It was preceded by the premiere of the album’s lead single, ‘Lost Boy,’ in August.

Whitechapel’s video for ‘Anticure’ is a “live” presentation of the song. The dim lighting and general setup is meant to reflect the band’s onstage presence.

The musical arrangement featured in ‘Anticure’ is a stark contrast to so much of Whitechapel’s works. It continues to show the band’s creative evolution with its deeply contemplative verses and much heavier choruses. The choruses boast the band’s familiar gritty approach to its work. Meanwhile, the more brooding verses present something of a sound akin to works from the likes of Dry Kill Logic, Tool, and other similar acts.

As with the other songs featured in Kin, ‘Anticure’ continues the theme of front man Phil Bozeman dealing with thoughts and feelings connected to family struggles.

The track listing for Kin is noted below.

Kin track-listing
1. I Will Find You
2. Lost Boy
3. A Bloodsoaked Symphony
4. Anticure
5. The Ones That Made Us
6. History Is Silent
7. To the Wolves
8. Orphan
9. Without You
10. Without Us
11. Kin

Whitechapel Debuts ‘Doom Woods’ Video; Announces Rescheduled Live Dates

Whitechapel debuted the video for its latest single this week.

The band debuted the video for its new single ‘Doom Woods‘ Thursday.  The song is the seventh single from the band’s 2019 album The Valley.  Its premiere comes more than a year after the band debuted the album’s sixth single ‘Hickory Creek.’

The album’s other singles are: ‘Forgiveness is Weakness,’ ‘Third Depth,’ ‘Black Bear,’ and ‘Brimstone‘ and ‘When A Demon Defiles A Witch.’  Along with releasing those singles, the band also partnered with Revolver magazine last year to release a trio of live performances from the band that were recorded at the band’s Nov. 19, 2018 performance at the Belasco Theater in New York.  The featured performances were of the songs: ‘Forgiveness Is Weakness,’ ‘Brimstone’ and ‘When A Demon Defiles A Witch.’

Guitarist Alex Wade said in a recent interview, he was pleased with the video’s outcome.

“We are excited to release the animated video for ‘Doom Woods’ off our 2019 release ‘The Valley,’ he said.  “While we have some time off from touring, we thought it would be a great time to give a visual representation to the closing track from the album. We were blown away with what the design team was able to create and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did. It really gives the track a new depth.”

While the COVID-19 outbreak caused the cancellation of Whitechapel’s current tour, the band  has announced a new re-scheduled tour alongside As I Lay Dying and Shadow of Intent that is set to launch Feb. 17 in Tucson, AZ and to run through March 20 in Riverside, CA.  The tour features performances in cities, such as Raleigh, NC; Kansas City, MO and Austin, TX.

As I Lay Dying Debuts ‘Torn Between’ Video; Announces New Live Dates

Courtesy: Nuclear Blast Records

As I Lay Dying debuted the video for its latest single this week.

The band debuted the video for its new single ‘Torn Between‘ Monday.  The video features the band performing its new single, and crosses that with a story about a man apparently being reunited with a love interest thanks to an experimental tool that he has developed.

The song’s musical arrangement is a more melodic work than some of its past works.  The news release distributed about the video does not offer an explanation for the song’s lyrical theme, but from the story featured in the video, it would seem that the theme has to do with someone dealing with an internal emotional struggle of sorts.

‘Torn Between’ is featured in AILD’s latest album Shaped By Fire (2019)  The also has also produced the singles ‘Shaped By Fire,’ ‘Blinded,’ ‘Redefined‘ and ‘My Own Grave.’  Additionally, the band debuted the B-side ‘Destruction or Strength‘ on March 27.

Sales of the B-side — and a new t-shirt that the band is selling — will go to benefit the San Diego, CA-based nonprofit, Feeding San Diego, which works to feed low-income families, senior citizens and everyone suffering from unemployment by providing food for those people.  The sales will also benefit AILD’s road crew, since the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak has cancelled the band’s tour.
