Sick Of It All Debuts ‘Beef Between Vegans’ Lyric Video

Courtesy: Century Media Records/Fat Wreck Chords

Sick of it All kicked off the weekend with the premiere of its latest single and its lyric video.

The band debuted its new single, ‘Beef Between Vegans’ and its lyric video Friday. The song is the latest single from the band’s most recent album, Wake The Sleeping Dragon (2018). It is the album’s seventh single behind ‘Bull’s Anthem,’  ‘Wake The Sleeping Dragon, ‘That Crazy  White Boy S***,’ ‘Inner Vision,’ ‘The Snake,’ and ‘Self Important S***head.’

The musical arrangement featured in ‘Beef Between Vegans’ is a heavy composition. Its overall instrumentation and vocals make it comparable to works from the likes of Hatebreed, Terror, and others of that ilk.

No information was provided in the press release announcing the debut of the new single and lyric video. The lyrics presented on screen however, make clear that the song is a commentary about the state of the world.

Speaking of lyrics presented on screen, they are presented over rough imagery of items, such as oil derricks, wildfires, and random cityscapes to help translate the message.

In related news, Sick of it All recently premiered a series of quarantine performances to tide fans over during the pandemic. The band performed new takes of its songs, ‘Deep State,‘ ‘Hardcore Horseshoe,’ ‘Paper Tiger,’ ‘The Bland Within‘ and ‘Alone.’

In other news, Sick of it All has two live dates scheduled for later this month. The dates are noted below.

SICK OF IT ALL Tour Dates:

Independent hardcore/thrash crossover band Confused is honoring America’s military with its latest single and video.

The band premiered the video for its new single, ‘Our Flag’ July 23 through metalunderground.com. The song is featured in the band’s forthcoming album, Riot, which is scheduled for release Aug. 27. Pre-orders are open.

The musical arrangement featured in ‘Our Flag’ is a high-energy punk rock style composition. The approach taken here and the sound makes the whole comparable to works from the likes of Sick of It All, Agnostic Front, and others of that ilk.

The lyrical theme that accompanies the song’s musical arrangement is meant as a tribute to America’s military members, according to front man Al Del Barrio. Del Barrio discussed the song’s lyrical theme in the article posted to metalunderground.com.

“Our Flag is inspired by the American military and all the soldiers who have fought and died to protect freedom around the world,” he said. “It’s a song about respect and reverence. We thank them all for their service….now get in the pit!”

The song’s companion video features imagery, such as vintage footage of battles from World War II, children reciting the pledge of allegiance, and Arlington National Cemetery to compliment the tribute to the nation’s men and women in uniform.

The heavy pounder that got that SOIA groove, ‘Deep State’ we saved this for last because we love how it came out, the performance, the visuals, the sound! Also the lyrics to remind everyone that no matters who’s in charge they don’t care about you and want to keep us at each other’s throats! Thank you for all the love you have shown these videos and we hope you love this one as well. We don’t know if this is the final one yet. But to produce these ain’t free and we ain’t touring! So we will see what’s next”

“This week’s track, ‘Hardcore Horseshoe,’ is from our latest album Wake The Sleeping Dragon!,” the statement reads. “The muscle bound riffs and tongue in cheek lyrics show the parities of growing older in the scene and male pattern baldness brought to you by Armand and definitely a band favorite on the album. Unfortunately we haven’t had the chance to play it live (yet) because as we were about to add it Covid hit. So here it is in all its quarantine glory.”

Sick Of It All Debuts ‘Bull’s Anthem’ Video

Courtesy: Century Media Records/Fat Wreck Chords

Veteran punk band Sick of it All debuted the video for its latest single this week.

The band debuted the video for its new single ‘Bull’s Anthem‘ Thursday.  The song is the latest single from the band’s 2018 album Wake The Sleeping Dragon.  The song’s musical arrangement is everything that audiences have come to expect from the band, giving listeners an ample, upbeat composition that despite its length leaves listeners fulfilled.

The song’s lyrical theme will put just as much of a smile on audiences’ faces, with its proudly defiant statement.  The band sings at one point in the song, “Enter with your pride and sin/Exit in humility/We will cheer the bull’s success/Nothing more, nothing less.”  At another point, the song finds the band singing, “If you want blood/Come get your fill/The matatdor’s is sure to spill/As long as we are still breathing.”  This metaphorical language is used to deliver a message of perseverance and never giving up no matter the circumstances. It is a message from which everyone can benefit in hearing.

The video features the band’s fans, friends and family singing along to the song by themselves in a nonstop collage of videos. The band talked about the video in a collective statement.

“Getting all our fans and friends involved in the making of this video for ‘Bull’s Anthem’ was an absolute blast,” the statement reads.  “We had so much fun going through all the submissions, piecing it together, and being able to bring some much needed laughter into all of our lives during these crazy times. It’s amazing to see so many people united via our music, from all over the world, and joining us in spreading a good responsible message. We want to thank Tim from Rise Against, Chuck from Hot Water Music and the hundreds of participants, for making this happen, and we want to thank you for watching and sharing this video. It’s US vs Them and the time for revolution has come! Support, love and take care of each other.”

‘Bull’s Anthem’ is just one of the singles that Wake The Sleeping Dragon has spawned.  It also generated the singles: ‘Wake The Sleeping Dragon, ‘That Crazy  White Boy S***,’ ‘Inner Vision,’ ‘The Snake,’ and ‘Self Important S***head.’  Wake the Sleeping Dragon is available to stream and download here.

These Streets Debuts New LP’s Lead Single, ‘Stay Awake’

Courtesy: Upstate Records/Blood Blast Distribution

Hardcore punk band These Streets is giving audiences their first preview of its new album Expect The Worst.

The band debuted the album’s lead single ‘Stay Awake‘ Wednesday.  The song’s heavy, pounding arrangement is a work that will appeal to fans of bands, such as Terror, Hatebreed and Sick of it All.  That is evident in the heavy, crunching, down-tuned guitar line at the center of the arrangement, as well as the full-on collective screaming effect that is so common in the hardcore punk scene and the tight yet equally intense drumming.

Front man Cam Ross said in a recent interview, the song’s lyrical topic stemmed from the band’s time on the road with two other hardcore punk bands on their most recent live run.

“Let’s just say that ‘Stay Awake’ is about a really long night we had on tour with Skarhead and Brick By Brick…a very long and interesting night,” he said.

The experience seemingly was impacting, as Ross stresses in the song’s lead verse that, “you can’t find peace at the bottom of the bottle” and that he can find “the power to break away.”  Additionally, he notes in the song’s second verse that “a sense of clarity is all I want.”  He goes so far as to open the second verse, saying, “I ask myself where I went wrong.”  The song’s third verse follows in similar fashion, lyrically.  Looking back, the song’s lyrical content seems to hint at the noted experience causing him to have a moment of personal insight.  That seeming insight, coupled with the song’s hard-hitting musical arrangement, makes the single a powerful first impression for the album.

‘Stay Awake’ is available to stream and download here.
