Silent Theory Debuts New Single, ‘Shaking Cages,’ Companion Video

Silent Theory debuted its new single this week, along with the song’s companion video.

The band debuted its new single ‘Shaking Cages‘ and its video Monday through Metal Insider. The song’s musical arrangement presents a distinct Linkin Park comparison as is evidenced in the guitar, vocals, and drums. An argument can also be made to compare the song’s approach and sound to that of works from Coheed and Cambria.

The lyrical content that accompanies the song’s musical arrangement presents an introspective statement. Front man Dakota Tyler discussed the song’s lyrical theme in a prepared statement.

“Shaking Cages is a song that developed from the feeling of being stranded on an island and doing everything you can to be found,” he said. “It was also a direct statement from the band to showcase our growth from the last record to now. It grew from the wishful idea that if you set enough fires and shake enough cages you might be seen.”

The video for Silent Theory’s new single features the band in a darkly lit studio setting, with just a light and lit-up “X” helping to illuminate the setting. That backdrop is used intentionally to help illustrate the message in the song’s lyrical theme and the emotion presented in the lyrical and musical content.

Silent Theory Debuts ‘Six Feet Under’ Lyric Video

Independent rock band Silent Theory debuted the video for its latest single over the weekend.

The band debuted the lyric video for its new single ‘Six Feet Under‘ Sunday. The song’s musical arrangement sees its foundation formed through a piano line that repeatedly plays the same four notes. The use of the guitars, drums, vocals and electronics give the song a sound that lends itself to comparisons to works from the likes of Linkin Park, Korn and other similar acts.

The song’s lyrical content takes on the difficult topic of mental health awareness in the United States and how that relates to the gun violence epidemic across the nation.

The band explained the song’s lyrical concept in a collective statement.

“‘Six Feet Under’ is about the evolution of hate and ignorance to mental health,” the statement reads.  “It was written during the marathon of mass shootings but it was never a stance on gun control.  Only a wake up call observation of our mental healthcare system and our bare minimum efforts for prevention.”

‘Six Feet Under’ is available to stream and download here.

Silent Theory Unveils ‘Watch Me Burn’ Video

Independent hard rock outfit Silent Theory is giving audiences another taste of its latest full-length album.

The Idaho-based band unveiled this week the video for its latest single, ‘Watch Me Burn.’  The song is the second single from its 2016 sophomore album Delusions.  For those unfamiliar with the band, this latest single will appeal greatly to fans of Breaking Benjamin, Linkin Park and other similar acts.

The band noted in a press statement that while the song and video are fully open to interpretation, the song’s central message is positive.

“Given the state of the world right now, with the natural disasters and political turmoil, we opted for a video that mirrored the current state, though we’d never consider ourselves a political band,” the band stated in the release.  “While we want people to interpret our song and video for themselves, it was written with the premise in mind that we are all in this together, and that music can be what binds us all together.”

The band’s new video was directed by Jon Kuritz in Moscow, Idaho.  Five separate projectors were used in the video’s recording; projectors which ran footage taken from various news stations of varied tense stories to illustrate the noted central message.

Delusions is available now.  Its track listing is noted below.

Track List:
1. Leave Alone
2. Fragile Minds
3. Boogeyman
4. Watch Me Burn
5. Lost Forever
