Memphis May Fire Announces New Album Details; Debuts Album’s Final Single, Video

Courtesy: Rise Records

Memphis May Fire announced Thursday, it will release its next album this year.

The band is scheduled to release its new album, Remade in Misery, June 3 through Rise Records. In anticipation of the record’s release, the band premiered what it is saying is the album’s final single, ‘Your Turn,’ and the song’s companion video Friday.

“It’s been such a wild and rewarding ride to release music in such a non-traditional way, especially because even this far along, we’re still so excited about each and every song!,” said front man Matty Mullins.

Mullins said the band will use the new single to continue its philanthropic efforts, donating 100% of proceeds from sales of a t-shirt promoting the single for the nonprofit Food for the Hungry. The Arizona-based nonprofit works to end poverty through disaster relief efforts and advocacy. In the case of the sales from the band’s new t-shirt, sales will help the agency’s Ukraine disaster relief efforts.

The musical arrangement featured in the band’s new single is everything that audiences have come to expect from the group. The melodic metalcore elements and heavier influences are all there balanced expertly into one whole. The whole immediately lends itself to comparison to works from the likes of Wage War.

No information was provided about the song’s lyrical theme in the press release announcing the song and video’s premiere. The lyrics provided with the video make clear that the theme is one of realizing that a person reaps what one sows.

The video for ‘Your Turn’ is the same as so many that the band has released with its singles. It features the band performing its new single in front of a wall of monitors as the song plays over.

The full track listing — along with links to the album’s singles — is noted below.

The Story Pirates Debuts Video For New LP’s Lead Single; Announces Podast’s Mid-Season Premiere Date, Return Of Band’s ‘SPTV’ Series

Courtesy: Sugar Mountain PR

Family entertainment group The Story Pirates will release its new album this spring.

The group is scheduled to release its next album The Strawberry Band April 2. In anticipation of the album’s release, the band debuted the video for the album’s lead single this week. The band debuted the video for the song ‘Fun Crazy Weird Hair Store‘ Friday through Geekdad and the “Absolutely Mindy” show on Sirius XM Kids Place Live.

The song is a light, kindie-pop style composition. Its easygoing guitar, piano, vocals, and simple time keeping makes it an infectious work. The song’s lyrical content is based on a short story crafted by a 9 year-old Story Pirates fan. It is one of a handful of stories crafted by children that make up the album, which itself is a tribute to concept albums.

The story behind is considered a “Beatles-esque” story that itself was crafted by a 5 year-old fan of The Story Pirates. According to information about the album, the band has dreams of stardom, but turns into strawberries every time it hits the stage. Throughout the album, the band, which created its own concept album, shows up as it tries to evade a strawberry-eating shark. The other stories that appear in this concept album about The Strawberry Band feature items, such as cinnamon buns, a wingless fairy, and a hedgehog.

The Strawberry Band is The Story Pirates’ fourth album.

In other news, The Story Pirates is scheduled to resume the fourth season of its podcast the same day as the release of its new album. It will feature 20 more episodes that will run through July,

Season Four opens with a Johnny Cash-style song that is based on a story titled ‘I’m Toast, Man!’ The song is based on a story written by a 6 year-old fan of The Story Pirates.

Season Four also features a new story, “The Adventures of Harold Jordan.” The story was adapted from a story crafted by one of The Story Pirates’ 9 year-old fans.

New music and stories are just a portion of what audiences have to look forward to from The Story Pirates when its fourth season resumes. Actor Maulik Pancholy (30 Rock, Phineas & Ferb) will join The Story Pirates for its mid-season premiere.

In even more news, The Story Pirates’ Los Angeles-based audiences can look forward to new episodes of its SPTV soon. The series runs on the region’s PBS affiliate, KLCS. The series encourages young viewers to use their imaginations to write original stories. It does this by taking viewers into stories written by other young viewers.

Story Pirates Creator Club members have full access to the show. Sample episodes of SPTV are streaming through YouTube.

Ice Nine Kills Unleashes ‘Merry Axe-Mas’ Video Game; Band To Continue Tour In 2020

Courtesy: Fearless Records

Ice Nine Kills is celebrating the holidays by giving its fans a very special gift.

The band has made available, the video game from the video for its single ‘Merry Axe-Mas.’  The band debuted the sing’es video Dec. 21, 2018. The single is taken from the band’s 2018 album The Silver Scream and is also featured on the album’s recent re-issue, subtitled The Final Cut.

The video game features three levels — Santa’s Forgiveness, Santa’s Forest and Silence The Sinners — through which Santa Claus wreaks some serious holiday havoc.  The video game and the song and video are all inspired by the controversial 1984 slasher flick Silent Night, Deadly Night, which is a favorite of INK front man Spencer Charnas.

Ice Nine Kills spent much of this year touring in support of its latest release The Silver Scream and its re-issue on the “Silver Scream World Tour” and “The Octane Accelerator Tour,” which was presented by Sirius XM.  The majority of the shows on that latter tour were sold out.

The band will continue its support of The Silver Scream well into the new year with a string of European dates in February and March.  That run will give way to another North American run that is scheduled to launch April 8 in Sunrise, FL and to run through May 20 in St. Paul, MN.  From there, the band will make its way to the United Kingdom for a brief stint there in late May.

Papa Roach, Five Finger Death Punch, I Prevail and Hollywood Undead will join the band on several dates.  The bands’ current tour schedule is noted below.  Tickets are available here.

Ice Nine Kills Debuts More Music From ‘The Silver Scream’ Final Cut; LP Re-Issue Available Now

Courtesy: Fearless Records

Ice Nine Kills debuted two more tracks from the brand new re-issue of its 2018 album The Silver Scream this week.

The band debuted the acoustic take of Michael Jackson’s hit song ‘Thriller‘ Friday.  The song presents an amped up take on the classic song, which featured a guest appearance by the late, great Vincent Price.  While Price is not featured in this exclusive to the brand new re-issue of The Silver Scream, the band does pay homage to him as well.

‘Thriller’ is just the latest song to be released from the re-issue of The Silver Scream.  The band debuted Thursday, the acoustic take of ‘Thank God It’s Friday,’ which was featured in a much heavier version in the band’s 2018 album.  That performance features a guest appearance by Ari Lehamn, the actor who first portrayed Jason in the very first Friday The 13th movie way back in 1980.

Lehman talked about taking part in the song’s new recording in a recent interview.

“I am honored to be singing alongside the amazingly talented Spencer Charnas on this track,” he said.  “Ice Nine Kills will captivate you with their virtuoso sound and compelling lyrics.  ‘Thank God It’s Friday’ has Vorhees power!”

Ice Nine Kills front man Spencer Charnas said he was just as happy to have Lehman take part in the song’s new recording as Lehman was to take part.

Friday The 13th and Jason have always been an obsession for me,” he said.  “When I had the idea to reach out to Ari about singing on our acoustic tribute, I never expected in a million years for it to actually happen.  To find out that Ari was not only a fan of INK, but 100% willing to join us on the track, was a moment I won’t soon forget.  He brings such a rich authenticity to this song with his charismatic voice, and his involvement helps elevate the piece to another level.  To hear the FIRST Jason from arguably one of the most iconic scenes in horror history sing the line, ‘He drowned in all our sins’ evokes the same goosebumps I got when I first saw the film.”

The band’s new take on ‘Thank God It’s Friday’ and its cover of Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ are just the latest singles to be released from the brand new re-issue of The Silver Scream.  The band debuted the video for its acoustic take of ‘Stabbing in the Dark‘ Oct. 4.  The song featured a guest performance by Trivium front man Matt Heafy.

This past April, the band performed an acoustic take of ‘A Grave Mistake‘ live on Sirius XM.  That performance is also featured in this recording.

The original 2018 release of The Silver Scream produced the singles and videos for ‘Thank God It’s Friday,’ ‘Stabbing in the Dark,’ ‘A Grave Mistake‘ and ‘The American Nightmare,’ ‘Savages,’ ‘Enjoy Your Slay‘ and ‘Merry Axe-mas.’

The full track listing for the new re-issue of The Silver Scream is noted below.
