Memphis May Fire announced Thursday, it will release its next album this year.
The band is scheduled to release its new album, Remade in Misery, June 3 through Rise Records. In anticipation of the record’s release, the band premiered what it is saying is the album’s final single, ‘Your Turn,’ and the song’s companion video Friday.
“It’s been such a wild and rewarding ride to release music in such a non-traditional way, especially because even this far along, we’re still so excited about each and every song!,” said front man Matty Mullins.
Mullins said the band will use the new single to continue its philanthropic efforts, donating 100% of proceeds from sales of a t-shirt promoting the single for the nonprofit Food for the Hungry. The Arizona-based nonprofit works to end poverty through disaster relief efforts and advocacy. In the case of the sales from the band’s new t-shirt, sales will help the agency’s Ukraine disaster relief efforts.
The musical arrangement featured in the band’s new single is everything that audiences have come to expect from the group. The melodic metalcore elements and heavier influences are all there balanced expertly into one whole. The whole immediately lends itself to comparison to works from the likes of Wage War.
No information was provided about the song’s lyrical theme in the press release announcing the song and video’s premiere. The lyrics provided with the video make clear that the theme is one of realizing that a person reaps what one sows.
The video for ‘Your Turn’ is the same as so many that the band has released with its singles. It features the band performing its new single in front of a wall of monitors as the song plays over.
