The Dead Daisies Put Out A Call To Action With Its New Single

Courtesy: Steamhammer

It’s time to ‘Rise Up’ again with The Dead Daisies.

The band today unveiled the lead single from its forthcoming album Burn It Down.  The mid-tempo, guitar-driven rocker is streaming online now via Spotify.  Front man John Corabi explained in a recent interview that the song’s lyrical theme is a social commentary.

“‘Rise Up’ is a blistering, old school Sabbath riff with angry lyrics about the state of the world!,” Corabi said.  “It’s about the people in power that say they have our best interests at heart, but don’t.  We need to rise up and let our voices be heard and tell them we want CHANGE and deserve BETTER!”

‘Rise Up’ is just one of the 11 total songs included in Burn It Down, which is currently slated to be released April 6 via Steamhammer Records.  Also included in the record are songs such as ‘Set Me Free,’ ‘Can’t Take It With You’ and the album’s title song alongside seven other songs.  Audiences will hear plenty of new material when the band heads back out on the road next month in support of Burn It Down.  The band’s upcoming tour schedule is available online now along with all of the band’s latest news and more at:

Anti-Flag Unveils New Single; Announces More Live Dates

Courtesy: Spinefarm Records

Anti-Flag has released yet another single from its latest album, American Fall.

The band released the explicitly-titled song ‘Mr. Mother******.’  The song is streaming online now via Spotify, Apple Music, Google Play and all digital platforms.  It is available for purchase online via iTunes and Amazon.

Guitarist Chris #2 said of the song, which was originally a b-side for the band’s American Attraction picture disc, that it is meant to pay homage to certain social activist organizations.

“Honestly, we just wanted to throw our hat into the ring in the storied history of Stagger Lee,” Chris #2 said.  “Our version has nods to those in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement of today, the black panther movement and the overall fight for social and economic justice.”

He added the song, creatively, was a reflection of the band trying something new in terms of its songwriting approach.

“This is a one-take demo of the song that we thought captured something very cool,” Chris #2 said.  “We were trying to push ourselves to experiment with tempos and structures when writing for American Fall, and those experiments are pretty clear on ‘Mr. Mother******.’

The Band Perry Debuts New Single, ‘Stay In The Dark’

Courtesy: Interscope Records

The Band Perry is known to audiences around the world as one of country music’s biggest acts.  However this year, the band will change things up and release its first-ever pop record in the form of My Bad Imagination.  In anticipation of that record’s upcoming release, the trio debuted the album’s lead single this week.

The band debuted the song ‘Stay in the Dark’ this week via Interscope Records.  The keyboard-driven composition is a dramatic departure from the band’s country compositions.  It is a work that fans of Katy Perry and other acts of her ilk will enjoy.  The song is streaming now on the band’s YouTube channel.

Neil Perry echoed that statement. He said the song’s arrangement was meant to exhibit the band’s growth.

“Creatively, ‘Stay in the Dark’ brings forward some of the elements we’ve always been known for as The Band Perry while introducing our fans to the all new sounds we’ve been working with,” Perry said.

Reid Perry said lyrically, the song is a love song at its core, adding it has far more meaning than just that one story for the siblings.

“In the literal sense ‘Stay in the Dark’ is about getting close to the one you love, closing the curtains and escaping from the wilds of the world together for the night,” Perry said.  “For us though, it has so many meanings, and we’re looking forward to seeing how our fans find themselves in it.”

Kimberly Perry agreed with her brothers as she talked about the song and the direction in which it finds the band moving.

“As we’ve been thinking about our transition from our last two albums to this one, I’ve interpreted lyrics more as metaphor with ‘I just want to stay in the dark’ meaning I want to stay romantic, imaginative and naïve,” Perry said. “I want to believe in what I can’t see.  I want to keep walking forward.  Chances and bold moves are always the ones that carry you the furthest in life – and for most of us we’ve got to ignore the naysayers and just take the leap.”

The Band Perry will perform its new single Tuesday night on NBC’s Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.  House drummer Questlove will handle drumming duties on the song.  The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon airs Monday through Friday at 11:35 p.m. EST.

Fans can purchase ‘Stay in the Dark’ online now at iTunes and Amazon.  It can also be streamed online at Apple Music, Google Play and Spotify.  More information on ‘Stay In The Dark’ is available online now along with all of The Band Perry’s latest news and more at:

Sonic Syndicate Releases ‘Confessions” Final Single

Courtesy: Despotz Records

Courtesy: Despotz Records

Sonic Syndicate has released more new music.

The band released the single ‘Still Believe (ft. Madyx)’ this week.  The song is the third and final single from the band’s 2016 album Confessions.  Audiences can hear the song online now here.

Front man Nathan J. Biggs called working on the song a special experience, adding working with alt pop singer Madyx (a.k.a. Michelle Blanchard) on the song made it even more special.  Blanchard won UMA’s “Best International Music Video” Award in 2016 for her video for ‘Some Kisses.’  The song is also on British Airways’ “Ones To Watch” playlist on each of its flights.

“Working on the song fulfills my ambition of hearing harmonies and alternate leads performed together with a female voice,” Biggs said. “So to get the chance to do this on Confessions was something not only brand new for us, but a big accomplishment, and to do it with such a sparky, talented girl like Madyx who really connected with the lyrics on a personal level made it even more special.  It turned a good song into a unique song that stands out on the record.”

Biggs said the songs make it so unique because of the topic presented within those words.

“The lyrics are about a long distance relationship, a couple reminiscing about their time together on different continents, how the vibe of each city flavored their love for one another,” Biggs said.  “However, as the song goes along we realize it’s not just heartache due to miles apart, the guy is talking to a girl who has passed away and she is replying from beyond the grave.  It’s beautiful, tragic and haunting.  But I think true love can even survive death.”

‘Still Believe’ can be downloaded now via iTunes and streamed online now via Spotify.  Sonic Syndicate will hit the road in March with Amaranthe to support ConfessionsConfessions can be ordered online now direct via Despotz Records’ webstore.  More information on Confessions is available online now along with all of Sonic Syndicate’s latest news and more at:

‘Paying My Way’ is not just about paying your bills,” Casey said. ‘It’s about doing what you have to do in order to be a good person, but at the end of the day, never losing sight of the fact that doing the next right thing may lead to great things one day.”
