ESPN’s ‘College GameDay Covered By State Farm’ Returns Next Week

College football season is now a wrap, the National Football league’s current season is nearly over and the boys of summer don’t start warming up for a little while, so meanwhile, ESPN, the worldwide leader in sports, is bringing back its flagship college basketball program next month.

College GameDay Covered by State Farm returns next Saturday, January 20.  Its first broadcast of the season will air in advance of ESPN’s Saturday Primetime presented by AT&T.  No. 21 Kentucky faces Florida at 8:15 p.m. on ESPN in the season-opening broadcast of that program.

Rece Davis returns as the program’s host.  Davis will be joined at the desk by analysts Jay Bilas, Seth Greenberg and Jay Williams.  Dan Shulman, Jay Bilas and Maria Taylor will have the call for next Saturday night’s game between the Wildcats and Gators.  Next weekend’s broadcast will be the seventh visit to Kentucky by College GameDay Covered by State Farm, tying Duke and Kansas for most visits by the program.

ESPN To Feature Key ACC Matchup On 100th Episode of ‘College GameDay’

ESPN’s flagship college basketball program will mark a special anniversary with coverage of a key ACC men’s basketball matchup next weekend.

College GameDay Covered by State Farm will air its 100th episode next Saturday, Feb. 18. The broadcast will come live from the site of a showdown between UNC and Virginia.

The program will air live beginning at 11 a.m. ET on ESPN with an evening edition leading into the network’s pre-game Saturday Primetime presented by AT&T broadcast at 8 p.m. ET.  Game coverage is scheduled to begin at 8:15 p.m. ET.

Rece Davis will anchor ESPN’s 11 a.m. edition of College GameDay Covered by State Farm.  Davis will be joined by analysts Jay Bilas, Seth Greenberg and Jay Williams for additional commentary.

Dan Shulman will have the call for the game.  He will be joined by Jay Bilas for additional commentary.  Reporter Maria Taylor will be courtside for all of the latest in-game news and interviews.

Saturday’s broadcast will mark the 16th time UNC has appeared on College GameDay Covered by State Farm.  The Tarheels currently sit 8th in the AP’s NCAA Men’s College Basketball Top 25 standings while the Cavaliers currently sit 12th.

The teams are much closer in the ACC standings. UNC currently sits second and Virginia third.  Both teams trail the Florida State Seminoles, who currently lead the conference standings at 21-4 overall and 9-3 in the conference.

ESPN’s 2015 College Football Playoff: Top 25 Premieres October 20th

The 2015 – 2016 NCAA college football season is less than a month away. As anticipation builds for the new season so do the discussions on who will take the title this year. Knowing that said discussions have already begun, ESPN announced this week the return of its College Football Playoff: Top 25 broadcast.

ESPN’s 2015 College Football: Top 25 will debut on Tuesday, October 20th. It is one of two broadcasts leading up to the NCAA’s first official ranking announcement on Tuesday, November 3rd. Rece Davis will host the half-hour debate program. He will be joined by analysts Kirk Herbstreit, Joey Galloway, Danny Kanell, and David Pollack. The program will run each week through Sunday December 6th, rounding out the last full week of the regular season. Army and Navy face off Saturday, December 12th, but are the only two teams that play that day, making Week 14 the last full official week of the regular season.

On Tuesday, November 17th, ESPN will air live a special edition of 2015 College Football Playoff: Top 25. It will come live from the State Farm Champions Classic basketball event at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. The weekly announcement will be made at 9:30pm ET between the evening’s two games–Kansas vs. Michigan State, Kentucky vs. Duke.

The December 6th edition of College Football Playoff: Top 25 will be a four-hour edition. During this broadcast, Davis and company will announce the Semifinal pairings for this year’s NCAA Division I college football playoffs. They will also announce the six bowl games scheduled for New Year’s Day, and the Top 25 rankings. It all kicks off at noon eastern time on ESPN. 2015 NBA Draft Pulls In Record Numbers

The 2015 NBA Draft presented by State Farm is officially in the books. And even with the draft being said and done, there are still lots of story lines for basketball fans to talk about in regards to who was and wasn’t taken. Now ESPN has added another item to discuss as it has announced the ratings numbers for this year’s draft.

ESPN has announced that this year’s NBA Draft presented by State Farm is the most-watched in the event’s history. This is according to Nielsen ratings. According to Nielsen’s numbers, the 2015 NBA Draft presented by State Farm averaged 3,738,000 (P2+). That is up eight percent from ESPN’s coverage of the 2014 NBA Draft. At its highest point, this year’s broadcast had 5,131,000 viewers. That was in the fifteen minute block from 8pm – 8:15pm ET. Not only were this year’s numbers the highest in the draft’s history but they were the highest ever on ESPN, averaging a 2.4 U.S. household rating. That is up four percent from the 2014 NBA Draft. It peaked in the 8pm – 8:15pm ET block with a 3.3 rating.

Even more impressive of ESPN’s broadcast of the 2015 NBA Draft presented by State Farm is that it pushed the worldwide leader in sports to win the night across both the broadcast and cable spectrum in a number of key demos. Those demos include: P 18 – 34, M 18 – 34, P 18 -49, M 18 – 49, and M 25 – 54.

ESPN’s College GameDay To Air Live From Wichita State For The First Time February 28th

Next Saturday’s broadcast of ESPN’s College GameDay Covered by State Farm is another big one for the Worldwide Leader in Sports.

Next Saturday, ESPN’s College GameDay Covered by State Farm will broadcast live from the campus of Wichita State. The broadcast will marks the first time ever that College GameDay Covered by State Farm will have ever broadcast live from the university’s campus. Saturday morning’s edition of College GameDay Covered by State Farm will kick off live at 10am ET on ESPNU and will continue at 11am on ESPN. It will precede the matchup of No. 13 Wichita State ad No. 11 Northern Iowa. Tipoff for that game is scheduled for 2pm ET.

The eveing edition of College GameDay Covered by State Farm will come live at 4pm ET on ESPN. It will come live from Lawrence, Kansas ahead of No. 8 Kansas taking on Texas. Tipoff for that game is scheduled for 5pm ET. Saturday evening’s broadcast from Lawrence marks the sixth time since 2005 that College GameDay Covered by State Farm has broadcast live from the University of Kasas. The last time that it originated from Lawrence, Kansas was 2013.

Stephen A. Smith will appear alongside host Rece Davis and analysts Jay Bilas, Seth Greenberg, and Jay Williams for the A.M. edition of College GameDay Covered by State Farm. Once they finish with the morning edition, Davis and company will pack up and head to Lawrence for the evening edition. Dan Shulman and Jay Bilas will have the call for the Jayhawks-Longhorns game while Rich Hollenberg, Seth Greenberg, and Mark Adams will have the mic for the matchup of the Shockers and Panthers. Shannon Spake will be on the sidelines for the Kansas-Texas game.

All customers with access to ESPN3 will be able to watch that game with ESPN3 Surround featuring in-arena natural sound and exclusive views from high above the rim at each end of the court.

ESPN’s College GameDay Hits The Hardwood In Arizona February 21st

ESPN’s live coverage of the 2014 – 2015 college basketball season continues next Saturday, February 21st live from Tucson, Arizona.

The Worldwide Leader in Sports’ live college basketball pre-game and post-game show, College GameDay Covered by State Farm will come live from Tucson, Arizona and the campus of Arizona University next Saturday, February 21st. The broadcast comes ahead of the matchup of the Wildcats and Bruins on ESPN’s Saturday Primetime Presented by DIRECTV. Tipoff is scheduled for 9pm ET. ESPN’s GameDay coverage kicks off at 10am ET on ESPNU. It continues live at 11am ET on ESPN. An evening edition of College GameDay Covered by State Farm will air at 6pm ET on ESPN. That broadcast comes ahead of a matchup of the #1 Kentucky Wildcats and the Auburn Tigers. Tipoff for that game is scheduled for 7pm ET.

Fans with access to ESPN3 will be able to watch the Arizona-UCLA game with ESPN3 Surround. It features in-arena natural sound and camera views that include above-the-rim shots at each end of the court.

Next Saturday’s broadcast of College GameDay Covered by State Farm will be the show’s second appearance in Tucson. Its first appearance was in 2012. It will also be the fifth time that UCLA will have appeared as part of the Saturday Primetime game at GameDay.

Officials with ESPN have announced the site of the network’s first broadcast in its 2015 college basketball broadcast season.

ESPN will open the 2015 season of College GameDay covered by State Farm on Saturday, January 17th in Ames, Iowa. The first in the network’s eight-week season, the broadcast will come ahead of the Saturday Primetime presented by DirecTV matchup between #17 Iowa State and #12 Kansas. Tipoff for the Big 12 contest is scheduled for 9pm ET. College GameDay covered by State Farm will cover not only the matchup between Iowa State and Kansas but all of the day’s games. It all starts at 10am ET on ESPNU. ESPN picks up coverage at 11am ET and then offers another edition at 8pm ET.

Audiences will see some new faces throughout this season of ESPN’s College GameDay covered by State Farm. Analysts Seth Greenberg and Jay Williams join the returning team of host Rece Davis and analyst Jay Bilas. Dan Shulman will also be back along with reporter Shannon Spake. They will be joined by Jay Bilas for full coverage of the matchup between the Hawkeyes and Jayhawks.

Over on ESPN, #14 West Virginia will be on the road against #10 Texas the same day. Tipoff for that game is scheduled for 6:15pm ET. Dave Flemming and Fran Fraschilla will have the call for the game.  The site for each week’s broadcast of College GameDay covered by State Farm will be announced a week ahead of those games within the show’s broadcast.
