The Dollyrots Debuts New Single; Announces New Tour Schedule

Courtesy: Wicked Cool Records

The Dollyrots debuted its latest single this week.

The band premiered its new single, ‘Too Fun For My Health’ Thursday through BrooklynVegan. The song is the latest single from the group’s forthcoming compilation record, Down The Rabbit Hole, which was originally schedule for release Jan. 7 through Wicked Cool Records and is now scheduled for release Jan. 21. The band premiered the record’s lead single, ‘Just Like All The Rest‘ last month.

The musical arrangement featured in ‘Too Fun For My Health’ is a catch, infectious work centered around the pairing of the vocal harmonies and guitars. The solid time keeping and the bass line add just enough accent to the work to make the whole completely engaging and entertaining.

The press release announcing the song’s premiere did not address the song’s lyrical theme. Listening through the song closely, the lyrics that can be deciphered sans lyrics hint at a theme of a person contemplating how he/she has changed along with his/her friends who were one way a long time ago but different as years have gone on. This is just this critic’s own interpretation and should not be taken as the only interpretation.
