There is an important update for those attending this year’s Vans Warped Tour.

Organizers have announced that the festival’s August 2nd stop in Phoenix, Arizona has been re-scheduled.  The festival will now be held on Thursday, August 4th.  The reason for the date change is so that the festival won’t conflict with the local Panic! At The Disco/Weezer show scheduled for the same date in Phoenix.  Tickets originayl purchased for the August 2nd festival date will be honored on the 4th.  As an added bonus for fans, those that have tickets for the Panic! At The Disco/Weezer concert scheduled for August 2nd can bring their ticket stubs to the Phoenix Event Complex box office on August 4th to purchase a Warped Tour ticket for a discounted price of $35.

Kevin Lyman is the Vans Warped Tour founder.  He explained the festival date change in a statement to the press.  “Unfortunately Vans Warped Tour and Panic! At The Disco & Weezer were scheduled on the same day in Phoenix this year,” he said.  “We have heard from many people who wanted to go to both shows, so we have been able to re-schedule our Warped date to Thursday, August 4th. As a thank you we have also decided that you can bring your Panic! At The Disco/Weezer tickets to the box office on the 4th and your ticket will only be $35.00. Tickets remain on sale at select Journeys locations for $35.00.”

The Vans Warped Tour is currently under way and runs through August 13th.  More information on this year’s tour is available online now at:

Whitechapel Premieres ‘Elitist Ones’ Video

Whitechapel has released a new music video.

The Tennessee-based metal outfit has released the video for its latest single ‘Elitist Ones.’  The song is taken from the band’s brand new album Mark of the Blade.  That album is available now in stores and online.  The video, which was produced and directed by Jim Foster (http://red13media.com), is streaming online now via Metal Blade Records’ official YouTube channel.  It features the band performing its new song in what looks to be a warehouse setting.  Along with the footage of the band performing there is footage of a woman with some rather reptilian style skin holding a snake (likely meant to be the snake on the album’s cover) also lip synching to the band’s new song.  Foster was upbeat in discussing being tapped to helm the new video, noting his own fandom and that of his crew in working with Whitchapel on the new video.  “As fans of Whitechapel, my entire team and I were stoked when Mike Faley (Metal Blade Records) asked me to write a treatment and direct for the band, he said.  “As a director, my job is always easier when the band is rippin’…and holy s***, are these guys RIPPIN’!”   The new video is the third from the band in support of its new album.  It most recently released the lyric video for the album’s title track.  It can be viewed here.  Also streaming online is the official video for ‘The Void.’  It is also streaming online via Metal Blade Records’ YouTube channel.

Set It off To Release New EP Next Month

Set It Off announced this week that it has a new EP on the way.

Duality: Stories Unplugged will be released on Tuesday, June 23rd via Equal Vision Records. The six-track EP will feature fully stripped down, reworked versions of five songs from the band’s 2014 full-length release Duality. It will also feature a never-before-released acoustic piece titled ‘Wild Wild World.’ In anticipation of the EP’s release, Set It Off has premiered the video for the re-worked take on the song ‘Bleak December’ online. It can be viewed now at http://setitoff.merchnow.com/.

Front man Cody Carson discussed what led to the disc’s creation noting that it stemmed in large part from fan demand. “We are so unbelievably excited to present to you: Duality: Stories Unplugged!,” he said. “We have received requests for an acoustic EP for a long time now and we had so much fun putting this together for you.” He also discussed what sets this disc apart from so many other acoustic collections, noting that “It was a huge goal on this EP to not just deliver the songs you already know with the only difference being that it’s on acoustic guitars. We took time to re-imagine some of these tracks. We wanted to name this Stories Unplugged because that is exactly how we look at these songs. These are all tales of different avenues of life we’ve walked down, and you’re along for the ride in a range of emotion and timbre. Thank you for your patience…I’m so glad we can finally provide you with this EP that we are so very proud of.” He went into even more specific detail giving as an example how the band came to its new take on ‘Bleak December.’ In regards to its creation, he said “In our acoustic arrangement of “Bleak December”, we took a more mellow approach and a more somber tone to deliver almost a whole new meaning to the song.” The track listing for Duality: StoriesUnplugged is noted below.

TRACKLISTING:
‘DUALITY: STORIES UNPLUGGED’ EP

1. Ancient History (Acoustic)
2. Tomorrow (Acoustic)
