Miss May I Debuts New Single, ‘Bleed Together,’ Companion Video; Announces New Album Details

Metalcore band Miss May I debuted its new single, ‘Bleed Together‘ and its video this week.

The band premiered the new song and video Wednesday. The premieres come more than two months after the debut of the band’s then latest single, ‘Unconquered’ and its video. ‘Bleed Together’ will feature in Miss May I’s forthcoming album, Curse of Existence, which is scheduled for release Sept. 2 through Sharp Tone Records. It is unknown if ‘Unconquered’ will also be part of the record’s body.

The musical arrangement featured in ‘Bleed Together’ is just as intense as that featured in ‘Unconquered.’ Audiences can easily make a comparison here to works from Miss May I’s Sharp Tone Records label mates Of Mice & Men, as well as again to works from We Came As Romans and to those from Wage War.

The lyrical theme featured in the band’s new single addresses the relationship between a parent and child in powerful fashion, according to a statement from front man Levi Benton.

“‘Bleed Together’ describes the connection a parent has with their child and the lengths they are willing to go to be there for them,” he said. “It is a natural instinct for a parent to want to guard their child and for some that still seems to be something that was missing in their life. This song is from my perspective and an emotional follow up to our song Hey Mister,’ which describes the lack of a father figure around in one’s life.”

The video for ‘Bleed Together’ illustrates the noted message as it shows a father holding his child while the world seems to be crumbling around the pair. Meanwhile the band is presented performing its new single on a soundstage to add to the visualization.

Miss May I Unveils First New Music In Five Years; Joins All That Remains Live

Courtesy: Adrenaline PR

Metalcore band Miss May I debuted its new single, ‘Unconquered’ and its video Wednesday.

The single and its video are the first from the band in five years. The song’s musical arrangement is pure metalcore and will appeal to the band’s established fan base, as well as that of Wage War, and Miss May I’s label mate, We Came As Romans.

The song’s lyrical theme addresses the emotional and mental struggles that everyone battled because of the pandemic, said front man Levi Benton.

“We as well as everyone else went through the ringer the last couple of years,” said Benton. “Some of us worse than others and even more of us finding ourselves in the darkest places we never thought we’d end up. After that experience and making it out –  it felt as if a battle had been won. That’s what ‘Unconquered’ is all about.”

The video for ‘Unconquered’ finds the band performing its new single on what looks like another world, perhaps another planet. The visualization is meant to help illustrate the sense of being in another world throughout the course of the pandemic. Meanwhile an unidentified man battles what seems like addiction to pills, alcohol and smoking. The song plays over the video as it progresses.

In other news, Miss May I is serving as support for All That Remains’ new headlining tour, which launched Saturday. The tour’s schedule is noted below on its poster.

Of Mice And Men Debuts New Single, ‘Obsolete,’ Companion Video; Announces New EP Coming

Courtesy: Sharptone Records

Of Mice and Men is opening the new year with new music and a new label.

The band debuted its new single ‘Obsolete‘ and its companion video Tuesday. the song is featured in the band’s forthcoming EP Timeless, which is scheduled for release Feb. 26 through the band’s new label home, Sharptone Records. The band’s addition to the label makes it label mate to the likes of Miss May I, We Came As Romans, and Bleeding Through.

Front man Aaron Pauley discussed the EP’s creation during a recent interview.

“There’s an old idiom about what you’re supposed to do when life gives you lemons,” said Pauley. “Sadly, to disappoint, this wasn’t exactly that. We started writing this EP shortly before the initial lockdowns in spring of 2020, before we knew that our world was about to become a radically different place. A lot of these songs were born from a place of wondering how we’d fit into 2020 and beyond, both as adults in our 30s as well as a band that’s a decade into our existence.”

Additionally, Pauley addressed the band’s signing to its new label.

“It’s pretty exciting to be working with a new label,” said Pauley. “We still have a great relationship with our previous label — it was just time to shake things up, and after conversations and meetings with various labels, we felt that our vision for the future of OM&M matched most closely with SharpTone’s. Working with Shawn and the team has been incredibly rewarding, and we’re all super excited with what’s to come!”

The band’s new single is a heavy, fiery composition that takes its familiar metalcore sound to a new level. The balance of Pauley’s screams and clean vocals alongside the precision in the guitar line and the drums makes for a powerful impact.

The lyrical content that accompanies the song’s musical arrangement is a contemplative statement that makes for an interesting contrast to the energy in the noted musical content.

Pauley addressed the lyrical content.

“It’s a song about questioning how future-proof one is in the grand scheme of things, and acknowledging that maybe we aren’t at all. I think we all wonder, to a certain extent, whether or not we’ll fit into the future, or how we would, or what that would look like,” he said. “Obsolescence is very prevalent in our lives. We see how quickly old phones become virtually useless, how quickly fads and trends come and go. It’s all too easy to ponder about when you’ll become a covered wagon, or a flip phone, or Myspace.”
