John Lee Hooker’s 1998 album, The Best of Friends is getting renewed attention.
The blues legend’s record is scheduled for re-issue July 12 on vinyl and CD. The vinyl re-issue will be limited to 750 copies an will feature the bonus track, ‘Up And Down.’ The song features a guest performance from Johnnie Johnson on piano.
The 14-song’s record is a reference to the duets he recorded with a variety of famous fellow musicians, such as Bonnie Raitt, Carlos Santana, and Robert Cray. Pre-orders are open. The album’s track listing is noted below:
