Get Shorty follows former gangster turned loan shark Chili Palmer (John Travolta — Pulp Fiction, Face-Off, Grease) as he travels to Los Angeles to collect a debt from down-and-out filmmaker Harry Zimm (Gene Hackman — Enemy of the State, Superman IV, The French Connection). His trip leads him to schmooze Hollywood figures Martin Weir (Danny DeVito — Matilda, Batman Returns, Throw Mama From The Train) and romances B-movie star Karen Flores (Rene Russo — Appaloosa, Lethal Weapon 4, Ransom). Things get even more interesting though when Palmer’s past comes back to haunt him courtesy of another mobster and a group of drug smugglers who are on his heels.
Those not-so-good figures are played by James Gandolfini (The Sopranos, Enough Said, The Mexican), Dennis Farina (Law & Order, Snatch, Midnight Run), Delroy Lindo (Up, Malcolm X, Ransom) and Jon Gries (Napoleon Dynamite, Men in Black, Real Genius).
