The members of Sleep Signals are recovering today from injuries sustained in a traffic accident that happened Wednesday.

The announcement came Saturday through a press release. The document and additional information provided to Phil’s Picks states the incident happened during the band’s tour with P.O.D., From Ashes to New, and All Good Things. It additionally states the incident involved the band’s vehicle and a second vehicle. According to the provided incident, the official police report states that the band was not at fault in the incident, though its members suffered what are being called “serious injuries.”

The band talked about the incident in a prepared statement.

“As we continue to process the events from Wednesday morning, we are reminded how fortunate we all are to be alive,” the statement reads. “Without going into too many details at this time, the band and crew did suffer some devastatingly extensive injuries and our vehicle/gear are a complete loss. It will be a very long road to recovery and we sincerely apologize to all of our fans, promoters, and everyone involved that we will not be able to continue the tour with P.O.D., From Ashes to New, and All Good Things.”

The statement continues, “Our good friend, Jason Carey, was kind enough to create a GoFundMe to help cover our medical bills and losses and we appreciate any support. https://gofund.me/7350d878. If you’d prefer to send directly via PayPal, you can send to info@sleepsignals.net. Please continue to respect our privacy as we continue to inform our families. We will give more details when the time is right.”

Sleep Signals’ tour was in support of P.O.D. as it supports the forthcoming re-issue of its album, Satellite. The tour launched only days earlier on Aug. 14. That means that the band would have been in route to the bands’ performance in Sioux Falls, SD when the incident happened.
