American Thrills is giving audiences another preview of its latest album, which the band hopes to release later this year through Wiretap Records.

The band debuted the as yet untitled album’s second single, ‘Ivy League Swing‘ Friday. The song is the album’s third single behind the recently premiered singles, ‘Misfires‘ and ‘Alive and Well‘.

The musical arrangement featured in the band’s latest single presents a familiar melodic punk style approach and sound. It throws back to the pop punk sounds of the 90s. The band talked about that in a playful statement about the song.

“We reached out to Fred Durst to do guest vocals on the track but he ghosted us,” the statement reads. “This song is best enjoyed in JNCO Jeans while watching Are You Afraid of the Dark. Got some big 90’s vibes.”

No information was provided about the song’s lyrical theme in the press release announcing the song’s debut. From what can be understood in the song, the immediate inference is that the song centers on the all too familiar theme of relationships. That is just this critic’s interpretation.
