A Killer’s Confession unveiled another new single and video this week.
The band premiered its new single, ‘Martyr‘ and the song’s companion video Friday. The premiere comes a month after the band debuted its then latest single, ‘Greed.’ Both songs are featured in the band’s forthcoming album, Victim 1.
Musically, AKC’s new single is another powerful melodic hard rock composition. It clearly stands apart from the arrangement at the center of ‘Greed.’ Where ‘Greed’ was far sharper in its edge, ‘Martyr’ is a little softer but still heavily impacting. Both arrangements are easily comparable in their own way to works from the likes of Sevendust and others of that ilk.
Lyrically, the song’s theme takes on the topic of self value in a manner of speaking, according to a prepared statement from the band..
“‘Martyr’ is the second step into the lore of Victim 1,” the statement reads. “This song is the embodiment of acceptance of who you are and what you have to do. Tossing aside what others might think of your actions knowing in the end, it really doesn’t matter what anyone thinks.”
The band also addressed the song’s video.
“The video for ‘Martyr’ is the idea of how soldiers from The Crusades will go to church to ask for penance for their actions. The scenery of a simpler time and the camaraderie between the knights says it all. “What we do is for the greater good.'”
In other news, A Killer’s confession is scheduled to launch a tour in support of its forthcoming new album this weekend in Grantville, PA. The tour, which also includes stops in cities, such as Columbus, OH; Dallas, TX and Dover, AR, is scheduled to run through July 20. Hyro The Hero, Mudvayne, and Ill Nino are scheduled to take part in the tour on select dates.
