Bloodywood premiered the video for its latest single this week.

The band debuted the video for its new single, ‘Aaj’ Friday through The Pit. The song and video are the sixth from the band’s forthcoming album, Rakshak, which is scheduled for release Feb. 18. The album has also produced the singles, ‘Endurant,’ ‘Gaddaar,’ ‘Machi Bhasad,’ ‘Yaad,’ and ‘Jee Verey.’

The musical arrangement featured in ‘Aaj’ is similar to those of the album’s other singles what with its mix of Indian influences and nu-metal alongside. The incorporation of the whistle and by now familiar blend of clean vocals and screams and the rich, heavy drums, guitar and bass makes that evident.

At the same time, there is a subtle difference in the arrangement’s overall sound and approach from the album’s other singles that still sets it apart. Case in point, some of the screams lean in the direction of a death metal sound, which is rare for the band in its new album. The whistle is kept to a minimum while the clean vocals (rapping) has its own unique flow, too.

The lyrical theme featured in ‘Aaj’ presents another positive message of perseverance, much as with the album’s other singles. It encourages listeners to put their past behind them and keep moving forward through life’s difficulties.
